A gravity flow liquid disinfectant dispensing reservoir comprised of a tapered base and a neck portion that extends centrally from the reservoir. An aperture located on the bottom of the reservoir facilitates the dispensing of liquid (i.e., disinfectant) from the reservoir into a holding tank. In another embodiment, a closed system for dispensing a liquid disinfectant into a tank containing liquid (effluent) and controlled via vacuum. The gravity flow device introduces disinfectant to the tank as the water level rises, giving the ultimate amount of contact time for treatment of effluent. Utilizing gravity and vacuum controlled dispensing of disinfectant dispenses disinfectant continuously and automatically in real time and provides for maximum contact time for minimal pathogen survival.

A system for delivering disinfectant or other chemicals to effluent or water within a containment vessel, such as a wastewater storage tank. The invention includes a mounting bracket or housing; a rotor rotationally connected to the mounting bracket; a shaft connecting the rotor to the mounting bracket; a pump connected to the shaft, the pump having a casing and a rotor assembly; a container; and an tube having a first end within the container and a second end outside the container, a portion of the tube positioned within the pump and in contact with the rotor assembly.

Chemical delivery system for water or effluent treatment

Racemic mixtures and enantiomerically pure forms of novel 1-[(2'-substituted)-piperazin-1&#x2032;-yl]-isoquinolines are norepinephrine (NE) transporter (NET) inhibitor compounds. Compounds of the invention are considered therapeutic agents for central nervous system (CNS) diseases and disorders, without limitation, including neurodegeneration, anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorders, drug dependency, and post traumatic stress disorder. Examples of the chemical syntheses of the compounds of the invention are provided. The isoquinoline compounds of the invention competitively bind at NET at nanomolar concentrations. The isoquinoline agents of the invention bind selectively to NET over other competitive transporter targets and receptor binding sites, including those of serotonin and dopamine, amongst others. The chemical syntheses of the invention are suitable for labeling with radionuclide atoms. Radiolabeled forms of the novel 1-[(2&#x2032;-substituted)-piperazin-1&#x2032;-yl]-isoquinoline compounds are positron emission tomography and single photon emission tomography imaging tracers. Methods of in vivo imaging with the tracers within various subjects and tissues therein, including regions of the brain, are provided. Imaging methods with the tracers in combination other NET inhibitor agents are provided. The imaging methods within subjects allow quantitative detection of NET, determinations of NET distributions, and measures of tracer interactions at NET in the presence or absence of non-radioactive NET agents. The tracer imaging methods are suitable to locate, diagnose, identify, evaluate, detect or quantitate NET, or abnormalities of NET, or NE abnormalities; that are associated with various CNS diseases and disorders.

1-[(2'-substituted)-piperazin-1&#x2032; -yl]-isoquinolines as norepinephrine transporter inhibitor therapeutics and positron emission tomography imaging agents

A chlorinator for wastewater treatment systems having a circulation pump, circulation tank, and return flow line, which includes a reservoir of disinfectant fluid and a dosage container communicating with the reservoir and the circulation tank to dispense a determined quantity of disinfectant during operation of the circulation pump. The dosage container is vented to atmosphere to prevent vacuum lock in operation and communicates with the reservoir at a flow rate substantially smaller than it communicates with the circulation tank. Operation of the circulation pump causes flow through the return line, inducing distribution of the quantity of disinfectant fluid into the circulation tank. As the dosage container outgoing flow rate far exceeds the dosage container incoming flow rate, once the disinfectant level drops below the point of communication between the dosage container and the circulation tank, no her disinfectant is drawn into the circulation tank. A near-uniform volume of disinfectant fluid is thereby supplied per pump cycle.

Chlorinator for wastewater treatment systems

A chlorinator for wastewater treatment systems having a circulation pump and return flow line, which includes a tank having an internal space, a buoyant container within the internal space which intakes a determined quantity of disinfectant fluid through a check valve from a quantity of such fluid disposed in said tank. The check valve limits flow during operation of the circulation pump. Operation of the circulation pump causes flow through the return line, inducing distribution of the quantity of disinfectant fluid into the circulation tank. After cessation of the circulation pump, the check valve opens to reestablish the quantity of disinfectant fluid. Regardless of the duration of pumping, only the uniform volume of disinfectant fluid is supplied.
