An air directing apparatus for a motor vehicle includes a basic body configured to direct an air flow occurring during operation of the motor vehicle as intended. The basic body has a height that changes continuously in a transverse direction of the motor vehicle.

A cooling device in an engine bay of a motor vehicle has a radiator and a radiator louver with at least one lamella that controls the passage of a gas flow through the radiator. At least one bypass duct bypasses the radiator and can be closed off by an associated closing element which is operatively connected to the radiator louver in such a way that an opening of the radiator louver generates a closing of the closing element, and therefore of the associated bypass duct, and vice versa. The radiator louver and the at least one closing element are coupled to one another in such a way that, regardless of the position of the lamellae of the radiator louver and the position of the at least one closing element, an at least approximately uniform lift force, or an at least approximately uniform pitching moment, is imparted to the vehicle.

A motorboat, in particular a yacht, with a cabin which merges on a rear side into a cockpit which is delimited laterally by side sections. To improve the wind comfort in the cockpit, a respective side guiding element for guiding the flow is disposed on each side of the boat. The side guiding element extends generally vertically upward and generally in the longitudinal direction of the boat from a rear end section of the respective side section.

In a full-rear vehicle, a rear-end spoiler is situated in the rear edge area of the roof above a rear window. To optimize a rear-end spoiler with a given longitudinal extent so that the aerodynamic efficiency is increased, the spoiler is formed by a split wing.

A cooling air system for motor vehicles has a radiator that is arranged in a front-end area of a motor vehicle and through which a cooling air stream flows. The exhaust air stream exiting from the radiator is directed beneath the motor vehicle by outlets that are arranged on the bottom of the motor vehicle. The outlets can be covered by an air guide element. In order to create a cooling air system for motor vehicles that has a simple design and simultaneously ensures favorable guidance of the cooling air, in the case of a motor vehicle whose outlets for cooling air can be covered by an air guide element, to arrange the air guide element in such a way that the exhaust air stream flowing out of the air guide element is directed basically parallel to one of the air streams flowing around the front end of the car.

A wheel bearing housing for suspending a wheel of a vehicle is provided. The wheel, mounted at the wheel bearing housing, is provided with a brake device. In order to create a wheel suspension device which has devices for guiding air that are provided at low construction costs, it is provided that the outside of the wheel bearing housing is formed at least regionally as an air-guiding element.

For increasing the effectiveness of an arrangement for ventilating an assembly on a vehicle, it is provided that, upstream of the assembly to be ventilated, an air guiding element is arranged which, in the cross-sectional view, has a vane-type profile and is set to be relatively steep, and on which an upper air guiding channel and a lower air guiding channel are constructed for the air stream occurring in the driving operation.

A vehicle-body-side air guiding device guides a first air current A such that it, is blown out directly in front of and exclusively in the area of the front wheels through blow-out openings provided on the bottom side of the vehicle in the direction of the roadway and, in the driving operation, forms an air wedge so that the air current B flowing through between the roadway and the bottom side of the vehicle is guided around the front wheels. So that the front wheel lift is not increased during the blowing-out of the air current, it is provided that, viewed in the flow direction of the air current, one deflection blade respectively is provided which is connected behind the blow-out openings and which deflects the air current emerging from the outlet openings toward the exterior side of the vehicle.

A vehicle roof has a first pivotable roof section, adjacent to a windshield frame, and a following roof opening. To avoid booming in the passenger compartment when driving, at least one upwardly projecting air baffle of limited width is provided on the outside of the first roof section.

A vehicle body comprises elements which are connected in a reinforcing manner with side rails of the body and consist of two struts which taper in a V-shaped manner toward the vehicle rear. These are connected with one another by at least one cross member. The free ends of the V-shaped struts are connected with a one-piece carrier plate which comprises two trapezoidal segments connected with one another by way of an integrated cross member. One trapezoidal segment has profiled lateral edges which extend as a lengthening of the V-shaped struts.

An air guide device on the rear of a motor vehicle has an airfoil located between side elements. The device includes a spoiler unit located at a distance from the airfoil with an integrated air intake grille in a trunk lid. The spoiler unit is made in one piece with the side elements to hold the airfoil which runs crosswise. Intake openings for supplying engine air are located in each of the side elements.

In a motor vehicle equipped with a sliding roof, a wind deflector is provided to avoid disturbing vibrations in the vehicle interior. The wind deflector is movable between a retracted position and an extended, operative position. An additional air guiding element of narrower width than the wind deflector is mounted locally of the wind deflector. The air guiding element is movable between a first position in a depression of the wind deflector and a second operative position in which the air guiding element projects beyond the wind deflector in an upward direction. The air guiding element moves into the second position coincidentally with movement of the wind deflector into the operative position.

An aerodynamically constructed cover part for the underside of a motor vehicle, especially of a passenger motor vehicle, includes at least one inlet opening for the cooling air flowing-through between the cover part and the road surface. In order to cool effectively aggregates and/or drive unit parts located above the cover part, at least one retaining element is arranged adjacent the inlet opening for fixing the cover part, whereby the retaining element has such a shape that the cooling air entering through the inlet opening is conducted deliberately onto certain aggregates and/or drive unit parts.

An air guiding arrangement for wheel brakes of a motor vehicle comprises a profiled deflecting element which is adjusted against the arriving air current. The arrangement is constructed with an air deflecting element held at the vehicle and extending in transverse direction of the vehicle which is arranged below an adjacent dome-shaped air catching and guiding element. It faces the deflecting element with its air inlet area and is located opposite an opening in the brake protection plate with its air outlet area.
