A system () for actively controlling sound propagating through exhaust systems () includes a controller (), a sound generator (), in fluid communication with an exhaust system (), and an actuator (), inside the sound generator and receiving a controller control signal for generating sound inside the sound generator to reduce sound inside the exhaust system. The controller identifies an increased exhaust pressure inside the exhaust system based on signals output by an error microphone (), a temperature sensor (), an impedance measuring bridge (), a bus system (), or a water sensor (). The controller interrupts a generation of the control signal and/or interrupts an output of the control signal to the at least one actuator and/or reduces a level of the control signal output to the at least one actuator by at least 30% or at least 60% upon determining a presence of an excessive exhaust gas pressure.

Overload protection for an actuator of a system for controlling sound propagating through an exhaust system

An anti-noise system for influencing exhaust noises propagating through a multi-flow exhaust system includes a controllerand at least one actuator. The at least one actuator is disposed in a sound generator, connected to the controllerfor receiving control signals, and adapted to generate sound inside the sound generator. The sound generatoris connectable to at least two exhaust tractsof the multi-flow exhaust system of the vehicle simultaneously. The controlleris configured to generate a control signal that prompts the at least one actuator disposed in the sound generatorto cancel sound inside the at least two exhaust tractsof the vehicle's multi-flow exhaust system at least in part and preferably completely.

System for influencing exhaust noise in a multi-flow exhaust system

A road vehicle () has a drive unit () for driving the vehicle (), a drive unit control device () for driving the drive unit () and at least one sound generator (), which has at least one electroacoustic converter (). The sound generator () has an emission pipe (), which connects the sound generator () acoustically and fluidically directly with an emission chamber (). The an emission chamber () emits the sound generated by the converter () during the operation of the sound generator (). Increased reliability of operation is achieved if a generator control device () is coupled with the drive unit control device () for driving the converter () and the generator control device () drives the converter () as a function of the current operating state of the drive unit ().

Road vehicle

An exhaust device () for an internal combustion engine () has an exhaust line () with a rear section X with two exhaust pipes () connected to an acoustic actuator () in a sound-transmitting manner. Better acoustic characteristics and increased number of noises audible from the outside is guaranteed by the exhaust pipes () being of different designs and/or by the actuators () being able to be actuated individually. A process for controlling the actuators () uses a control device () that actuates the actuators () individually to generate different acoustic signals () of the respective actuators (). A motor vehicle () is provided with such an exhaust device () with acoustic actuators () controlled by such a process. The motor vehicle () has additional actuators (), which are especially associated with an intake line () and are arranged in the interior of motor vehicle ().

Exhaust device for an internal combustion engine

An exhaust system, for a vehicle driven by an internal combustion engine, has a system for removing condensate () that includes a first line section () for fluid connection with exhaust gas (), at least one second line section () for fluid connection with exhaust gas (), and at least one suction line (). The suction line () is disposed between the bottom () of the at least one second line section () and the first line section (), and includes an opening () configured to be passed over by exhaust gas () passing through the first line section ().

Exhaust system having a system for removing condensate

The present invention relates to an active sound absorber () for an exhaust system () of an internal combustion engine, preferably of a motor vehicle, comprising a housing (), a connecting pipe () for the acoustic and fluidic connecting of the housing () with the exhaust system (), an active membrane () which in the housing () separates a front volume (), fluidically connected with the connecting pipe (), from a back volume (), and an actuator () for vibration stimulation of the active membrane (). A risk of damage by condensate in the back volume () can be reduced by at least one condensation line (), which fluidically connects the back volume () with the front volume (), in which vapor contained in the exhaust gas condenses, and which directs the condensate which occurs to the front volume ().

Active sound absorbers

A silencer, particularly rear silencer, for an exhaust system of a combustion engine, particularly of a motor vehicle, has a housing in which an outlet chamber is located. An outlet pipe arrangement leads out of the housing which on the inlet side is fluidically connected to the outlet chamber. A particularly compact design can be realized if the outlet pipe arrangement is configured as pipe-in-pipe arrangement including at least one deflection pipe closed on one side and arranged in the housing and an outlet pipe led out of the housing.

Silencer

The invention relates to a muffler for an exhaust system of an internal combustion engine, consisting a housing having at least one exhaust inlet and at least one exhaust outlet and having at least two pipes at the inlet end or at the outlet end, at least one of which is switchable by a control device at least between an open state and a closed state and is acoustically coupled to a silencer system, such that the silencer system is active when the switchable pipe is opened as well as when it is closed and has a different damping characteristic when the switchable pipe is opened than when the switchable pipe is closed.
