A method may include generating a graphical user interface (GUI) that includes a canvas visually displaying a virtual audio environment representing an arrangement of speakers in a real-world audio environment. The virtual audio environment may include an audio object that represents sounds that are grouped together to provide a particular sound effect. The method may include obtaining, via the GUI, a selection of a particular audio object displayed in the virtual audio environment and user input relating to the audio properties associated with the selected audio object. The method may include performing an audio computation based on the user input and updating the selected audio object represented in the canvas. The method may include displaying, via the GUI, the updated audio object in the canvas.

Adjustment of audio systems and audio scenes

According to some embodiments, operations may include obtaining a virtual space that includes a virtual speaker distribution of virtual speakers within the virtual space. The operations may further include obtaining an audio file that includes audio corresponding to an audio object of an audio scene and generating one or more audio signals based on the virtual speaker distribution and the audio file. In these or other embodiments, the operations may include mapping each respective virtual speaker to a respective point source in an audio localization environment that corresponds to the virtual space. In addition, the operations may include providing the one or more audio signals to an audio localization system according to the mapping of the virtual speakers to their respective point sources.

Audio space simulation in a localized audio environment

An audio system can be configured to generate an audio heatmap for the audio emission potential profiles for one or more speakers, in specific or arbitrary locations. The audio heatmap maybe based on speaker location and orientation, speaker acoustic properties, and optionally environmental properties. The audio heatmap often shows areas of low sound density when there are few speakers, and areas of high sound density when there are a lot of speakers. An audio system may be configured to normalize audio signals for a set of speakers that cooperatively emit sound to render an audio object in a defined audio object location. The audio signals for each speaker can be normalized to ensure accurate rendering of the audio object without volume spikes or dropout.

A method may include obtaining audio to be projected in an environment in which the audio includes a plurality of audio channels. The method may include mapping a first audio channel of the plurality of audio channels to a first channel object, the first channel object including first audio of the first audio channel. The method may include obtaining environmental parameters associated with a speaker system including a plurality of speakers, the environmental parameters including one or more of: speaker locations, sensor information, speaker acoustic properties, environmental acoustic properties, environment geometry, or listener location. The method may include obtaining a first target sound effect associated with the first audio channel. The method may include directing projection of the first channel object by a speaker of the plurality of speakers according to the first target sound effect and based on the environmental parameters to simulate the first target sound effect.

A user-friendly programmable thermostat is described that includes a body having a central electronic display surrounded by a ring that can be rotated and pressed inwardly to provide user input in a simple and elegant fashion. The current temperature and setpoint temperature are graphically displayed as prominent tick marks over a range of background tick marks on the electronic display. Different colors can be displayed to indicate currently active HVAC functions, and different intensities of colors can be displayed to indicate an amount of heating or cooling required to reach a target temperature. The setpoint temperature for the device can be altered by user rotation of the rotatable ring, and the programmed schedule can be displayed to the user and altered by the user by virtue of rotations and inward pressings of the ring. Initial device set up and installation, the viewing of device operation, the editing of various settings, and the viewing of historical energy usage information are made simple and elegant by virtue of the described form factor, display modalities, and user input modalities of the device.
