A patient interface, such as a nasal cannula, including a body to be positioned upon a user (preferably such as a user's face), the body including at least one (and preferably a pair of) nasal prong(s), the or each nasal prong including a lumen capable of being fluidly connected thereto for fluid communication with a supply of breathable gas, the or each nasal prong to be in a configuration either inserted into, or to direct a flow of gas toward, a nare or the nares of the user's nose, wherein the body includes at least one element responsive to force(s) or movement(s), or both, experienced by at least a first region of the patient interface.

Patient interface

A patient interface assembly has a patient interface and a securement system for the patient interface and/or patient interface tubing. The patient interface has a body and at least one nasal prong extending from the body. The at least one nasal prong has a gas inlet for fluid communication with a supply of breathable gas, and a gas outlet configured to direct a flow of gas towards a nare of the user's nose. The at least one nasal prong further includes an exterior surface, at least a portion of the exterior surface is a sealing surface configured to seal the nare of the user's nose. The securement system has a two-part releasable attachment or connection arrangement, the arrangement comprising a first patch and a second patch.

Nasal cannula and securement system

A component useable with one or more tube comprises a body engageable with one or more external surface recesses of the one or more tubes. The component has a pair of jaws extending from the body for gripping an item. The component is configured, such that, in use, in a first orientation of the body relative to the respective tube(s) recesses, the component is movable along a length of the tube(s); and, in a second orientation of the body relative to the respective tube(s) recesses, the component is resistive to movement along a length of the tube(s).

This invention relates to a patient interface, a system and/or method for providing a dedicated or sole inspiratory line or conduit for provision of inspiratory gases to a patient, and a dedicated sole expiratory line or conduit for provision of expiratory gases to a downstream device, where the inspiratory line or conduit is sealing engageable with first of a user's nares and the expiratory line or conduit is sealing engageable with the second of a user's nares.

Patient interface, system and method

A patient interface, such as a nasal cannula is described. The patient interface has a body portion to be located, in-use upon a face of a user. The body portion has at least one side arm that extends laterally from a central bridge portion to be located about a user's septum region, where each side arm is connected to a resilient, or relatively more rigid, bridge portion element. The interface has at least one, and preferably a pair of, nasal prong(s). The body portion has at least one fluid passageway connected to the nasal prong(s) for supply of a gas to the nare(s) of the user's nose. A cross section of the passageway varies along the length of the body portion to regions of varying flexibility along the body portion. The bridge portion element defines a substantially predetermined spatial relationship for outlet(s) of a gas delivery system supplying gas via each side arm to the outlet(s) from which, for example, the nasal prong(s) may be provided in fluid connection. Each side arm may comprise one or more predefined or predisposed points or localised compensation regions (or sites) positioned along the side arm, or a side arm element, to accommodate or facilitate a compensation of the patient interface in or at one or more of the compensation regions (or sites).

This invention relates to a headgear comprising a semi-rigid frame engageable with the head of a user and a releasable connection system for releasable connection with a user interface, wherein the frame extends generally about a rear region of a user's head, generally about an upper region of a user's head, and generally about an ear or both ears of a user.

In an embodiment, a connector or connector assembly for attaching a nasal cannula with a gas delivery hose includes a sensor port for a sensor probe positioned near an end of a nasal cannula, which can allow the sensor probe to be placed closer to the patient's nostrils than previous connector parts allowed. The connector can be configured to advantageously allow the nasal cannula to rotate relative to the gas delivery hose, thereby allowing a patient or healthcare provider to untangle or otherwise straighten the hose or the cannula. The connector assembly can be configured to automatically align locking protrusions on a first component with locking recesses on a second component, where insertion of the second component within the first component causes the second component to rotate relative to the first component, thereby aligning the locking protrusions with associated locking recesses.

Conduit connector for a patient breathing device

Medical breathing tubes have a tubular body that defines a lumen extending between open terminal ends of the tubular body. An internal form is enclosed within the lumen and supportive of the tubular body. The internal form may be a coated encapsulated internal form where the coating secures the internal form to the tubular body. The internal form may provide for a series of alternative crests and troughs of the tubular body. A patient interface and/or a securement system may be attached to the tubular body.
