Supporting arrangement for an eccentric member of an adjusting arrangement, and adjusting arrangement

A method is provided for producing an assembly of an eccentric rod () and a piston () of a connecting rod of an internal combustion engine having an adjustable compression ratio. The method includes providing an eccentric rod () having a first end () for attachment to an eccentric lever of an eccentric adjusting device of the connecting rod and a second end () for attachment to a piston () that can be guided in a hydraulic chamber of the connecting rod. The method then includes arranging the second end () of the eccentric rod () in the piston (); introducing an injection-molding tool () into the piston (); and injection-molding a circumferentially closed retaining ring () between the piston (), the second end () of the eccentric rod () and the injection-molding tool ().

Method for producing a unit consisting of eccentric rod and piston of a connecting rod of an internal combustion engine

A connecting rod () has a big end bearing eye () for attachment to a crankshaft and a small end bearing eye () for attachment to a piston of a cylinder. An eccentric adjusting device () adjusts an effective connecting rod length. The eccentric adjusting device () has eccentric rods () that engage on an eccentric lever () of the eccentric adjusting device () so that, in the region of each eccentric rod (), a connecting pin () extends through apertures in the eccentric lever () and in the respective eccentric rod (). The aperture () in the respective eccentric rod (), through which the respective connecting pin () extends, and/or a section of the respective connecting pin () that extends through the aperture () in the respective eccentric rod (), has/have arched contours, at least in some section or sections.

Connecting rod and internal combustion engine

A switching valve for an internal combustion engine having an adjustable compression ratio. The switching valve includes a switching element having a groove, and a sleeve-shaped connecting section, which has a first bore, which connects the switching valve with a first hydraulic fluid line, a second bore, which connects the switching valve with a second hydraulic fluid line, and a venting bore, which connects the switching valve to a venting duct. The switching element is guided so as to be movable in the connecting section by forming a gap between the surface of the switching element and a corresponding guide face of the connecting section. In a first switched position of the switching valve, the groove connects the first hydraulic fluid line to a venting duct. In a second switched position, the groove connects the second hydraulic fluid line to the venting duct.

Switching valve and internal combustion engine

A connecting rod has a big end bearing eye for attachment to a crankshaft, a small end bearing eye for attachment to a piston of a cylinder, and an eccentric adjusting device for adjusting an effective connecting rod length. The eccentric adjusting device has eccentric rods () with first ends that engage on an eccentric lever of the eccentric adjusting device and second ends that engage on pistons () guided in hydraulic chambers of the connecting rod. The second ends of the eccentric rods () are spherical heads that engage in a corresponding recess () in the respective piston (), and the respective piston () further accommodates a retention element (), one segment of which rests on the spherical-headed end of the respective eccentric rods ().

An internal combustion engine with an adjustable compression ratio has connecting rods (), each of which has a hydraulically adjustable eccentric adjustment device arranged in a connecting rod bearing eye () and/or in a crankpin bearing eye () for adjusting an effective connecting rod length (l) of the respective connecting rod (). Travel of the eccentric adjustment device is controlled by a switchover valve (). Each switchover valve () has a pick-off means (). The switchover valves () can be actuated by an actuation device () that has a switching fork () for each switchover valve () and thus for each pick-off means () to be actuated. The pick-off means () and the switching forks () are oriented relative to one another so that inertial forces acting during driving assist the actuation of the switchover valves () by the actuation device ().

Internal combustion engine

A connecting rod () has a big end bearing eye () for attachment to a crankshaft, a small end bearing eye () for attachment to a piston, and an eccentric adjusting device () for adjusting an effective connecting rod length. The eccentric adjusting device () has eccentric rods () that engage on an eccentric lever (), an eccentric () that is guided in an aperture in the eccentric lever () and in the small end bearing eye () and an aperture for accommodating a piston pin (). Lubricating oil bores () are introduced into the small end bearing eye () via which a lubricating oil film can be built up between the small end bearing eye () and the eccentric (). The small end bearing eye () has a larger radial wall thickness in those regions in which the lubricating oil bores ().

A switching valve for an internal combustion engine, which has an adjustable compression ratio, namely to control a hydraulic oil flow particularly for an eccentric adjustment mechanism, having a control piston, which can be shifted by a switching mechanism similar to a ballpoint pen mechanism, wherein the control piston controls the hydraulic oil flow dependent on the switch position thereof, wherein the switching mechanism comprises at least one actuation element and a detent element, and wherein at least the control piston, the actuation element and the detent element are nested in each other so that they are implemented in a concentrically overlapping manner, at least in sections, when viewed in the shifting direction of the control piston.

Switching valve and internal combustion engine having such a switching valve and a method for a switching valve

A connecting rod () has a crankpin bearing eye () attached to a crankshaft () and a connecting-rod bearing eye () attached to a piston. An eccentric adjustment device () adjusts an effective connecting rod length and has eccentric rods () that engage a lever () of the eccentric adjustment device (). Each eccentric rod () has a piston () guided in a hydraulic chamber (). The hydraulic chambers () can be charged with hydraulic oil from first hydraulic lines () that lead to the crankpin bearing eye () and second hydraulic oil lines () that lead from the crankpin bearing eye (). Check valves () prevent a backflow of hydraulic oil back into the second hydraulic lines (). At least one filter prevents an ingress of contaminants from the crankshaft into the hydraulic chambers () via the hydraulic oil.

An actuating device () is provided for changeover valves () of an internal combustion engine having an adjustable compression ratio. Each changeover valve () is used to control a hydraulic oil flow in hydraulic chambers of an eccentric adjusting device of a respective connecting rod () of the internal combustion engine. Each changeover valve () has a pick-off element () that can be actuated by the actuating device (). The actuating device () has a selector fork () for each changeover valve () and hence for each pick-off element () to be actuated. The selector forks are secured on a support structure () and can be moved from a first selection position into a second selection position against the restoring force of a return element (), and wherein the restoring force of the return element () moves the selector forks () automatically in the direction of the first selection position.

Actuating device for changeover valves of an internal combustion engine and internal combustion engine

A connecting rod () has a pin bearing eye for attaching the connecting rod () to a crankshaft, a connecting rod bearing eye () for attaching the connecting rod () to a piston of a cylinder, and an eccentric adjusting device () for adjusting an effective connecting rod length. The eccentric adjusting device () has eccentric rods () that act on an eccentric lever () of the eccentric adjusting device (). The eccentric adjusting device () also has an eccentric () with a bore for receiving a gudgeon pin (). Lubricating oil bores () in the connecting rod bearing eye () and in the eccentric () enable a lubricating oil film to be built up between the connecting rod bearing eye () and the eccentric () and also between the eccentric () and the gudgeon pin ().

A connecting rod () has a pin bearing eye connected to a crankshaft and a connecting rod bearing eye () connected to a piston. An eccentric adjusting device () adjusts an effective connecting rod length and has eccentric rods () that act on an eccentric lever () of the adjusting device (). The eccentric adjusting device () has an eccentric () guided in a recess of the lever () and a recess for receiving a gudgeon pin (). Lubricating oil bores extend radially of the eccentric in the connecting rod bearing eye () and in the eccentric (). Lubricating oil builds up via the lubricating oil bores between the connecting rod bearing eye () and the eccentric () and between the eccentric () and the gudgeon pin (). Lubricating oil bores of the eccentric () are diametrically larger than lubricating oil bores of the connecting rod bearing eye ().

An internal combustion engine with an adjustable compression ratio has a switchover valve () for controlling hydraulic oil flow in chambers of an eccentric adjustment device. The switchover valve () has a switching element () and a sleeve-shaped connecting section () with a first bore () that connects to a first hydraulic line (), a second bore () that connects to a second hydraulic line (), and a venting bore () that connects to a vent (). The switching element () can be displaced in the connecting section () between a first position (S) where a groove in the switching element () connects the first hydraulic line () to the venting duct () or a second position (S) where the groove () connects the second hydraulic line () to the venting duct (). A pick-off element () extends through the connecting section () and interacts with the switching element ().

Switchover valve and internal combustion engine

A connecting rod () has a big end bearing eye () for connection to a crankshaft, a small end bearing eye () for connection to a piston of a cylinder, and an eccentric adjustment device () for adjusting an effective connecting rod length. The eccentric adjustment device () has an eccentric () that interacts with an eccentric lever (), and eccentric rods () that the eccentric lever (). The eccentric lever () has segments () positioned axially in front of and behind the small end bearing eye (). Each eccentric lever segment () is connected to the eccentric () for conjoint rotation. Each eccentric lever segment (), end faces () of the small end bearing eye () adjacent the respective eccentric lever segment (), and adjacent end faces () of the eccentric () have a beveled contours.

An internal combustion engine with adjustable compression ratio with a connecting rod bearing eye for connecting to a piston of at least one cylinder and an eccentrical element adjustment device for adjusting an effective connecting rod length, and wherein the eccentrical element adjustment device includes an eccentrical element cooperating with an eccentrical element lever and eccentrical element rods engaging the eccentrical element lever, wherein the eccentrical element rods are loaded with a hydraulic pressure that is provided in hydraulic cavities interacting with the eccentrical element rods, wherein the eccentrical element lever includes at least one eccentrical element lever segment, wherein the at least one eccentrical element lever segment is positioned in axial direction of the eccentrical element in front and/or behind the connecting rod bearing eye, and wherein the at least one eccentrical element lever segment is fixated at the eccentrical element.
