This invention discloses a system for determining whether a purported or alleged authorized user is in fact the authorized user, by comparing new data on a real-time basis against probability distribution representations including an authorized user probability distribution representation and a global or wide population probability distribution representation, to provide a probability as to whether the purported authorized user is the authorized user. This invention may utilize keyboard dynamics or data, or X-Y device data, or other data from similar measurable characteristics, to determine the probability that the new data from the purported authorized user indicates or identifies that user as the authorized user. This invention identifies the user continuously as the user interacts with the system and to identify a change in situation in the environment of the user. This invention provides a means to identify an anonymous user by matching the continuous recorded behaviormetrics or a characteristic of the anonymous user with the behaviormetrics of known users.

A system and a related method are disclosed for authenticating a user of an electronic system. The system, and related method access (a) data relating to a defined interaction with an input device for a purported authorized user, (b) a probability distribution representation for the defined interaction for an authorized user, and (c) a probability distribution representation for the defined interaction for a wide population, from which it can determine value indicative of whether the purported authorized user is the authorized user. The purported authorized user can be authenticated as the authorized user, if the value satisfies a prescribed threshold.

System and method for user authentication

A system and a related method are provided for associating a user of an electronic system with a demographic. Input behavioral data is captured related to measured interactions with at least one input device. The input data is compared to probability distribution representations for a demographic group and for a wide population, performing the measured interaction(s). The system is configured to associate the user to a demographic group a prescribed threshold is met, based on the comparing.

User authentication system

This invention includes a system for the association of a user of an electronic system with a demographic, wherein a data characteristic of the user is accessed and compared to a wide population probability distribution reference indicative of a demographic associated with the data characteristic, and making a determination of a probability that the user is up to the demographic based on the comparing. Systems may include a method for selecting a more probable data characteristic upon which to associate a user with a demographic, and a data processing apparatus configured with one or more wide population probability distribution references for use on any one of a number of electronic systems.
