A modular headlamp assembly includes low beam headlamp module for providing illumination in a predetermined light distribution pattern. The low beam headlamp module includes a low beam heat sink and mounting assembly having a low beam heat sink portion with first and second sides. A low beam reflector member is attached to the low beam heat sink and mounting assembly such that the low beam heat sink portion bisects the reflector low beam member into first and second segments. A plurality of LED light sources is supported by the low beam heat sink portion. The reflector assembly and plurality of LED light sources produce a light distribution pattern extending at least 40 degrees in a first horizontal direction and at least 40 degrees in a second horizontal direction, with the light distribution pattern having a sharp horizontal cutoff line parallel to and below a horizon.

Modular headlamp assembly for producing a light distribution pattern

A high beam headlamp module for a headlamp assembly includes a unitary high beam heat sink and mounting assembly including a planar high beam heat sink portion, having a first side and a second side, and a high beam mounting portion having alignment features formed therein for mounting the high beam headlamp module to the headlamp housing. Further, at least one high beam LED light source is supported by the first side of the high beam heat sink portion with an optical axis approximately perpendicular to the headlamp optical axis, wherein the second side of the high beam heat sink portion does not support an LED light source. A high beam reflector member is also included having a reflective portion adapted to redirect light from the at least one high beam LED light source towards the headlamp optical axis, wherein the high beam headlamp module is positioned adjacent to the low beam headlamp module in the headlamp housing.

Modular headlamp assembly having a high beam module

A modular headlamp assembly includes a low beam headlamp module, a high beam headlamp module, and front turn/parking lamp module. The low beam headlamp module and the high beam headlamp module are supported by a reflector carrier. Each of the high and low beam headlamp modules includes a heat sink and mounting assembly with a heat sink portion bisecting a reflector member. The reflector carrier is adjustably fastened to a housing to allow for adjustment of the high and low beam headlamp modules within the modular headlamp assembly.

Modular headlamp assembly having a low beam module

A modular headlamp assembly includes a low beam headlamp module, a high beam headlamp module, and front turn/parking lamp module. The low beam headlamp module and the high beam headlamp module are supported by a reflector carrier. Each of the high and low beam headlamp modules includes a heat sink and mounting assembly with a heat sink portion bisecting a reflector member. The headlamp includes a lens with a wire heating element embedded therein and a wire heating element circuit board affixed to the lens. A thermistor is affixed to the lens for sensing when the lens reaches a predetermined condition and a micro-controller is provided for activating or deactivating the wire heating element based on the predetermined condition sensed by the thermistor.

Modular headlamp assembly with a heating element for removing water based contamination

A headlamp assembly for a vehicle includes housing for coupling the headlamp assembly to a vehicle and a heat sink structure having a first surface, a second surface, a first edge, and a second edge. A first light emitting diode assembly and a second light emitting diode assembly are each electrically connected to a circuit board. The second edge of the heat sink structure directly contacts an inner surface of the housing, such that the housing is separated into first and second sections by the heat sink structure. Illumination of the first light emitting diode assembly results in a low beam and illumination of both the first light emitting diode assembly and the second light emitting diode assembly results in a high beam.

A headlamp assembly having a mechanism for reducing water based contamination is disclosed. A headlamp assembly includes a lens affixed to a housing having an inner surface and an outer surface, a wire heating element embedded within the inner surface of the lens, wherein the wire heating element is electrically coupled to a circuit board. An encapsulation layer is disposed over the wire heating element and a thermistor is affixed to the lens for sensing when the lens reaches a predetermined condition. The thermistor is electrically coupled to the circuit board and a micro-controller is provided for activating or deactivating the wire heating element based on the predetermined condition sensed by the thermistor.

Headlamp assembly having a heat sink structure and wire heating element for removing water based contamination

A headlamp assembly for a vehicle includes a housing for coupling the headlamp assembly to a vehicle. The housing includes a reflector and a planar heat sink is positioned therein. The planar heat sink structure includes a first surface and a second surface for supporting a circuit board, a first light emitting diode assembly, and a second light emitting diode assembly. The headlamp assembly is adapted to emit a high beam and a low beam and the headlamp assembly is completely bisected by the planar heat sink structure.

Methods and system are provided for a vehicle truck assembly which includes a spring coupling an axle carrier to a truck frame. In one example, the system comprises a substantially vertically-mounted hydraulic actuator which generates hydraulic forces between the axle carrier and the truck frame. The actuator includes a cylinder, a piston, and a piston rod. Further, the actuator is coupled between the axle carrier and the truck frame with longitudinal and lateral play so that the axle carrier can move laterally and longitudinally with respect to the truck frame while the actuator applies hydraulic force.

Dynamic weight management for a vehicle via hydraulic actuators

A headlamp assembly having a mechanism for reducing water based contamination is disclosed. The mechanism includes a lens assembly having an outer lens and an inner lens. A heating element may be disposed between the inner and outer lenses. Alternatively, inner and outer lenses may be spaced apart having a passage formed therebetween thorough which fluid may travel. Heat from light emitting diodes and a circuit board may be directed toward the outer lens through passages formed in the headlamp assembly.

An example truck assembly may include a truck frame element, and a carrier coupled with the truck frame element. A bias may be configured to bias the carrier away from the truck frame element. An actuatable linkage arrangement may include a compliant linkage coupled with the carrier. The compliant linkage may pull the carrier against the bias in a first direction.

A crankcase ventilation system for a reciprocating internal combustion engine includes an exhaust outlet and a collector for gathering gases from the engine crankcase. An eductor is connected to the collector and to the exhaust outlet. The eductor includes a generally cylindrical body extending into the exhaust passage of the exhaust outlet and having discharge, clean out, and receiver ports, so that crankcase gases will be drawn through the eductor and discharged into exhaust flowing through the exhaust outlet.
