An apparatus is disclosed for transporting packagings from a packaging apparatus having two dropping channels to a transport container. A first transport element has compartments, the center-to-center distance of which corresponds to a center-to-center distance of the dropping channels, receives the packagings from the packaging producing apparatus. A second transport element has compartments for transporting the packagings to the transport container, wherein the center-to-center distance of the compartments of the second transport element corresponds to half of the center-to-center distance of the dropping channels. The apparatus has a transfer unit for transferring the packaging from the first transport element to the second transport element, and to which a positioning device is assigned for positioning the compartments of the first transport element relative to the compartments of the second transport element.

A process for treating an imaged printing form, in particular a printing form covered with amphiphilic molecules or with polymers, such as saccharides, includes applying a gum, in particular a microscopic gum layer, to the surface of the printing form in the liquid state. The gum is removed or reduced down to a remaining nanoscopic covering after a short or negligible time interval, relative to the time interval until the application of lithographic liquid, for example dampening solution or printing ink, to the surface. The removal or reduction of the gum is preferably carried out in the still liquid state, i.e. before the applied gum dries on, and preferably immediately after the application. The remaining gum covering protects the printing form against contaminants and increases its hydrophily/hydrophoby contrast. An apparatus for treating an imaged printing form, a re-imageable printing form and a machine for processing printing material, are also provided.

An apparatus and method for treating a rotating printing technology surface, especially a re-imageable printing form, with a process liquid, such as cleaning, covering or rinsing liquid, include jet nozzles disposed along a straight line substantially parallel to the axis of rotation of the printing technology surface, and a cloth device substantially parallel to the axis of rotation. The nozzles pivot about a pivot axis substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation for producing a substantially uniform distribution of process liquid parallel to the axis of rotation. The cloth device preferably has a cloth with segmented or calendered portions substantially parallel to the axis of rotation, for substantially limiting spread of process liquid in the cloth parallel to the feed direction of the cloth and assisting substantially uniform distribution of process liquid parallel to the axis of rotation. Machines for processing printing material and for treating printing forms are also provided.

A sheet processing machine for the processing of sheets of paper, cardboard, and the like, includes at least one processing station, one delivery unit, one sheet transport system including circulating gripper carts, which are driven by individually actuated linear drives, a machine control system and braking devices located in the entry zone of processing stations. The back edge of the respective sheet at its stop position in the delivery unit and/or the at least one processing station lies directly above the back edge of the delivery stack and/or the back edge of a tool or die of the processing station.

A sheet brake for braking sheets made from a printing material contains circulating brake elements and at least one sheet support that is disposed between the brake elements and forms a blowing device. The sheet support contains a first nozzle array having air nozzles and a second nozzle array having air nozzles. The air nozzles of the first nozzle array are configured to produce blown air volumetric flows, which are smaller than blown air volumetric flows from the air nozzles of the second nozzle array.
