A handle assembly including an elongate handle having an inner end, an outer end, and a length between the inner end and the outer end, and a multipart cover including an inner cover, and an outer cover. The inner cover is fitted removably over the length of the handle, the outer cover is fitted removably over the inner cover, the inner cover and the outer cover concurrently encircle and extend along the length of the handle from proximate to the inner end of the handle to proximate to the outer end of the handle, and the outer cover includes a chemically-resistant exterior gripping surface.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a storage medium having instructions for a method for facilitating supply chain collaboration in a network environment, said supply chain including an enterprise and at least one supplier. The method includes generating and transmitting an unconstrained forecast to a supplier; receiving a supplier capability statement in response and generating a constrained forecast utilizing the supplier capability statement. The constrained forecast is transmitted to the supplier which responds with a formal commitment to product a needed supply indicated in the constrained forecast. The method also includes monitoring inventory levels at a replenishment service center by a supplier based upon a formal commitment, refilling inventory items at the replenishment service center; and facilitating delivery of the inventory items to the enterprise site by transmitting a pull signal to the replenishment service center whereby inventory items are delivered in response to the pull signal.

Network-based supply chain management method

An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method for facilitating supply chain collaboration in a network environment, said supply chain including an enterprise and at least one supplier. A method and structure for coordinating materials ordering requirements for multiple divisions of an organization, comprises a merging unit in communication with the divisions of the organization, wherein the divisions supply the merging unit with parts demand data and wherein the divisions produce the parts demand data utilizing independent demand calculation systems. An information warehouse is connected to the merging unit. The merging unit combines the parts demand data from the divisions to produce an overall demand data for parts needed by the organization.

An exemplary embodiment of the invention relates to a method and storage medium for integrating forecasting and replenishment activities for a networked supply chain including an enterprise and at least one supplier. The method comprises receiving a demand forecast for a first manufacturing cycle from the enterprise, performing a hub inventory assessment, performing a capability assessment, and transmitting a commitment response to the enterprise based upon the demand forecast, the results of the hub inventory assessment, and the results of the capability assessment. The demand forecast is utilized to manage hub inventory for use in a second manufacturing cycle. Other embodiments include a storage medium for implementing the invention.
