A method of, and a processing system for, creating distinct user spaces. In a platform originally intended to be a single user platform, for each of a plurality of users, a first application used by the user can be assigned a user identifier (UID) unique to the user and the first application. The first UID can be associated with user data exclusively associated with the user and the first application to create a multi-user platform.

Telephony and digital media services may be provided to a plurality of locations, such as to a plurality of homes and offices, though the deployment of telephony and digital media services devices to the locations, wherein each device is configured to function as a voice, data and media information center. A system in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention includes an application store and an application intelligence subsystem implemented on one or more computers. Each of the application store and the application intelligence subsystem is communicatively connected via a network to a plurality of such telephony and digital media services devices. The application store is operable to provide applications via the network for installation and execution on each of the plurality of devices. The application intelligence subsystem is operable to obtain and report information about applications installed and executed on each of the plurality of devices.

A system that includes a telephone adapted for connection to a data communications network. A method and system for authenticating a computing device for data usage accounting are described herein. As an example, the method can be practiced on a computing device that includes secure applications and unsecure applications. A data session request for a secure application can be received, and in response to the data session request, a data session connection can be initiated. As part of initiating the data session connection, an authentication package uniquely associated with the computing device can be sent to the authentication server. If the computing device is authenticated, the data session connection can be established to enable data exchange and data accounting in which the authenticating may be performed exclusively for the secure applications.

Method and system for enrolling and authenticating computing devices for data usage accounting

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for facilitating communication between remote services and applications installed on a device are described. In accordance with embodiments, each of a plurality of remote services generates an application-specific message intended for processing by a corresponding application installed on a device and transmits the application-specific message to a device management system (DMS) server, where it is queued. A DMS client installed on the device sends heartbeat messages to the DMS server indicating that the device is available to receive messages. In response to receiving the heartbeat messages, the DMS server transmits the application-specific messages to the DMS client. The DMS client then publishes each application-specific message to the particular application that the application-specific message was intended for.

The technology described herein provides a keyless entry system and associated method for fleet vehicle management. Secure keyless entry is provided to a user for a vehicle in the fleet vehicle management environment without the user having possession of a vehicle key or a vehicle key fob to gain entry to the vehicle. Additionally, in various embodiments, this technology provides a personalized, programmable access device carried by a user desiring access to a particular locked vehicle in a fleet vehicle management environment, an access control device configured to access electronically an on-board vehicle keyless entry system, and an access chip module electronically attached to the access control device and configured to activate the on-board vehicle keyless entry system and thereby unlock the particular locked vehicle. Furthermore, this technology provides a system with local management, reporting, audit trails, wireless connectivity to each access control device, and self-testing.

Methods and systems for secure keyless entry for vehicle fleet management

The disclosed trash comminution apparatus (TCA) is a device designed to work in conjunction with existing residential trash receptacles utilized by both municipal and private trash collection services. The TCA can pulverize, grind and shred most residential trash items into small pieces, while allowing non-shreddable material to be disposed of as well. In some embodiments, the TCA can be installed on the top of a commonly utilized trash receptacle. To install the TCA on a common receptacle, the hinged top of the receptacle can be removed. A rectangular opening can be cut near the top, on the back side of the receptacle. The TCA can then fit directly inside the top lip of the receptacle and can be bolted into the sides of the receptacle with a reinforcing metal band on both the interior and exterior of the lip of the receptacle. An electrical connection box with a three-prong electrical plug can be installed into the rectangular. The TCA can have a metal lid and a latch to latch the lid to the receptacle. When the lid is closed a safety switch can allow comminution to begin.

A control server, or similar central processor, manages the distribution of data (including audio and video), voice, and control signals among a plurality of system components (such as, televisions, monitors, PDAs, portable stereo, lighting, ovens, alarm clocks, etc.) connected via a wired and/or wireless communications network. A portable controller allows a user to access and control the system components from any location within a controlled residential and/or non-residential environment, including its surrounding areas. One or more control macros can be established to control the operations and/or functions of the system components. A control macro includes commands for enabling the control server to control the system components. The control macro can be manually activated by a user, or automatically executed upon the occurrence of a commencement parameter. The control macro can also be automatically particularized for application in a specific context.

Method, system, and computer program product for automatically managing components within a controlled environment

A fertilizer dispenser with an inlet compartment and an outlet compartment with an inlet into the top of the inlet compartment. The inlet is connected to an inlet sub-line directed into the inlet compartment and an outlet sub-line directed into the outlet compartment. An outlet is located in the bottom of the outlet compartment. The inlet compartment and the outlet compartment are separated by a baffle which permits flow over the baffle from the inlet compartment to the outlet compartment. The fertilizer dispenser is used with a System for watering with a supply hoses connected in series with seep hoses. The seep hoses are located about the vegetation to be watered while the supply hoses are connected in series to the seep hoses.

A CPU interconnect system permits swapping of different CPUs in a computer without requiring that the different CPUs each be adapted to conform to a standard input/output bus. Translation between CPU input/output lines and a system bus is accomplished by a programmable logic circuit. A memory containing a configuration program for the programmable logic circuit is associated with each CPU desired to be swapped. Thus, when a CPU is swapped or upon the occurrence of any other convenient event, the programmable logic circuit may be loaded with the program to configure the programmable logic circuit to perform the translation required by a current CPU.
