What is disclosed is a software interface tool for breast cancer screening that is designed for medical professionals to view and analyze suspicious regions for hot spots and hence facilitate a determination of whether identified areas of breast tissue are cancerous. Isotherm maps are constructed at designated temperature resolution. Maps are displayed on the screen. Point & click on the isotherm map can extract temperature values of pixels within the region covered by the isotherm contours. Also provided are isothermic views at different viewing angles which is advantageous for visual detection. Additional functionalities for hotspot selection, cropping, zooming, viewing at different angles, etc. are also enabled by the present software interface. The present software interface further utilizes a tumor detection method which is also disclosed herein.

A system and method for scheduling and executing jobs in a decentralized multifunction device (MFD) network is provided. The method includes receiving at an origin node of the network of MFDs a job, where the job includes data and a request to perform an operation on the data. Portions of the job data are apportioned to the selected MFDs for processing thereof by executing the requested operation. A system and method for dynamically reducing the number of choices by reordering the selectable menu options in each menu of a color adjustment tool based on image content, selections in other menus, and usage history. Color names and color modifiers are reduced and/or reordered through image analysis, with most frequently occurring colors being placed at the top of the menu and excluding less frequently used or unused colors from the menu. Adjustment adjectives are reduced by eliminating nonsensical or rare color adjustment combinations (e.g. make the grays much more colorful, make the blues yellower), and/or reordered based on usage history, either by the individual user or by aggregating over many users.

After markings have been placed on a pre-printed form by a user who interacted with an entity, the form is scanned to produce a scan file. The scan file is analyzed to identify whether user added markings are present on machine readable selection items. The method can take a number of automated actions, depending upon which pre-printed machine readable selection items were checked by the user. For example, in response to checkbox selections, the method can obtain (read) some form of electronically storable data relating to the entity based on which of the machine readable selection items the user checked. Paper interface to an electronic record system

The Device Model Agent (DMA), the device side technology module in Device Centric Services (DCS) system, is the main focus of this invention. DMA is a thin, efficient applications/services execution environment. DMA provides an embedded services platform for enabling system management applications and services. This allows a flexible, extensible, dynamic services management module allowing networked services to be designed, added, and managed within the system without modifications to devices, DCS system, or DMA itself. While this invention specifically describes the integration of benefits from DMA into document system devices, the concepts are equally applicable in other domains. The DMA runtime environment is a thin software interface layer that resides on a document system device between the Java runtime environment and embedded web server.

Device model agent

A system for automatically detecting the need to service a machine. The system includes a processor and at least one of a device component and a supply component. The processor determines a time at which the device component will require repair or replacement and when the supply component will need replenishment and sends an electronic message addressed to a communication device accessible by the user or supplier. The electronic message includes data which facilitates ordering services and sending the supplies to the user of the machine.
