A device for preventing unwanted opening of a locked enclosure includes a lock bolt moveable between a locked position and an unlocked position. A lever arm is movable between disengaged and engaged positions and moves the lock bolt between the locked and unlocked positions. A rotary element is engageable with the lever arm in the engageable position. The rotation of the rotary element when the rotary element is engaged with the lever arm moves the lock bolt between the locked and unlocked positions. A pin normally blocks the lever arm from moving from the disengaged position to the engageable position. A rotatable output gear moves a rack gear and the pin to unblock the lever arm and thereby allowing the lever arm to engage with the rotary element to allow a user to rotate the rotary element to move the lock bolt between the locked and unlocked positions.

Device and methods for providing a lock for preventing unwanted access to a locked enclosure

A high security lock includes a lock bolt movable between extended and retracted positions, a bolt retraction gear coupled to the lock bolt, and a manually-driven gear. When a controller verifies that user-input information is correct for unlocking the lock, the bolt retraction gear and manually-driven gear are operatively coupled such that the gear can drive the lock bolt from the extended position to the retracted position.

High security lock

A high security lock includes a lock bolt movable between extended and retracted positions, a bolt retraction gear coupled to the lock bolt, and a manually-driven gear train. When a controller verifies that user-input information is correct for unlocking the lock, the bolt retraction gear and manually-driven gear train are operatively coupled such that the gear train can drive the lock bolt from the extended position to the retracted position.

A self-powered electronic lock is provided having a housing, a lock element mounted in the housing for movement relative to the housing between a locked position and an unlocked position, a code input device operating with a first set of electronics, and an electric actuator operating with a second set of electronics. The electric actuator is operatively coupled with the lock element to allow movement of the lock element from the locked position to the unlocked position. A first electric power generator is operative by a user to supply electrical power for operating the code input device and the first set of electronics. A second electric power generator is operative to supply electrical power for operating the electric actuator and the second set of electronics. The first and the second set of electronics are electrically isolated and are synchronized to generate a common number for a combination code.

Self-powered electronic lock

A self-powered electric lock includes a lock bolt and a first engagement element having disengaged and engageable positions. An electric actuator includes an output operative to move the first engagement element to its engageable position. A manually operated rotatable member is operatively coupled to the first engagement element when the first engagement element is in its engageable position. A lock bolt drive mechanism is coupled to the lock bolt and to the first engagement element when the first engagement element is in its engageable position. The movable output moves the first engagement element to its engageable position upon input of correct electronic data. An electricity generator is coupled to the manually operated rotatable member. The electricity powers the electric actuator and an electronic data input device. The manually operated rotatable member is also used to actuate the lock bolt drive mechanism and retract the lock bolt.

High security lock mechanism

A self-powered electronic combination lock including a lock mechanism having locked and unlocked conditions. A rotatable dial is used to input a numerical combination code for changing the lock mechanism from the locked condition to the unlocked condition. An electronic display operates to display individual numbers of the combination code as the dial is rotated and a control is electrically connected with the dial and the electronic display. The control changes the numbers shown in the display as the dial is rotated in a single direction and the control is operable to sense a change in the direction of dial rotation. An electricity generating device is connected with the dial and the control and operates through dial rotation to generate electricity to power the control.

Electronic combination lock with high security features

An electronic combination lock including an electronic combination input device, a lock-bolt mounted for movement between locked and unlocked positions and a rotatable first engagement element having disengaged and engageable positions. A first electric actuator is electrically coupled with the electronic combination input device and includes a rotatable output for rotating the first engagement element to its engageable position in response to a proper combination input. A manually operated and rotatable second engagement element may be engaged with the first engagement element in the engageable position thereof. A lock-bolt drive mechanism is operatively coupled between the lock-bolt and the first engagement element. A second electric actuator includes a movable output operatively coupled to the first engagement element to prevent the first engagement element from rotating until the proper combination is input.

Electronic combination lock having anti-tampering features

A locking mechanism adapted to be placed in locked and unlocked positions. The locking mechanism includes a lock-bolt mounted for movement between locked and unlocked positions and a first engagement element having disengaged and engageable positions. An electric actuator having a movable output drives the first engagement element to the engageable position. A manually operated second engagement element can be engaged with the first engagement element in its engageable position. A lock-bolt drive mechanism is operatively coupled between the lock-bolt and the first engagement element. A slidable element responds to a movement of the manually operated second engagement element and slides linearly between engaged and disengaged positions. The slidable element cooperates with the lock-bolt drive mechanism to enable manual movement of the lock-bolt between the locked and unlocked positions thereof such that the disengaged position of the slidable element corresponds to the locked position of the lock-bolt.

An electronic combination lock includes a combination lock having a dial with no markings thereon. Rotation of the dial drives a generator which produces electrical pulses. The voltage pulses serves as a power source for the electronics of the lock. The lock also includes a security feature to disable the lock if the combination dial is stopped between dial rotations for a period of time which indicates dialing by an automatic dialer.
