A VCO-Based Continuous-Time (CT) delta-sigma modulator (DSM) with a noise-shaping (NS) successive approximation register (SAR) quantizer for a 3rd order noise transfer function (NTF) is presented. An anti-aliasing filter (AAF) enables this new hybrid architecture. The 28 nm CMOS prototype NSQ VCO CTΣΔ achieves 84.2 dB SNDR and 86.8 dB DR within a 1 MHz bandwidth while consuming 1.62 mW at 100 MS/s. The core circuit occupies only 0.024 mm2. No calibration or coefficient tuning is required.

Analog-to-digital converter with 3rd order noise transfer function

A phase locked loop (PLL) includes a phase detector configured to receive a reference signal and a feedback signal, wherein the reference signal has a reference frequency, sample the feedback signal, and output a phase detection signal indicative of a phase of the feedback signal. A voltage controlled oscillator is configured to generate an output signal based on the phase detection signal. The output signal has an output frequency greater than the reference frequency. Feedback circuitry is configured to detect a signal edge of the output signal and selectively supply, once per cycle of the reference signal, the detected signal edge of the output signal as the feedback signal.

Sub-sampling phase locked loop (SSPLL) with saturated reference feedback

Crossbar arrays perform analog vector-matrix multiplication naturally and provide a building block for modern computing systems. Specialized mixed-signal interface circuits are interfaced with the rows and columns of the crossbar arrays. During operation, the mixed-signal interface circuits provide high voltages for write operations and low voltages for read operations. This disclosure presents improved designs for the mixed-signal interface circuits which minimize the number of switches as well as the number level shifters.

Mixed-signal interface circuit for non-volatile memory crossbar array

A paint storage kit is provided for storing and dispensing paint in a manner that minimizes mess and loss of paint. The paint storage kit includes a larger storage container, a funnel, and a smaller touch-up container. The storage container includes a removable, flexible pour spout that reversibly connects with the opening of the storage container and facilitates clean transfer of paint into the touch-up container(s) or alternate location. The touch-up container includes a plastic tube, storage cap, and applicator pad. Paint is transferred to the storage container where it stored. The paint can then be transferred to one or more touch-up containers. The touch-up containers can apply small amounts of paint directly via an applicator pad affixed to the top of the touch-up container.

Paint storage and dispensing kit

A system and method for conducting closed loop deep brain stimulation on an individual, and more specifically, for receiving local field potential neural signals, encoding and filtering the signals into the logarithmic domain, processing the signals, and determining optimal stimulation parameters for deep brain stimulation based on the processed neural signals. The system and method may also include an RF-DC converter such that the system may be powered in whole or in part based on radio frequency signals. The system and method may also include an RF transceiver such that the system may transmit data wirelessly to an external receiver, or may receive stimulation parameters wirelessly from an external transceiver.

Closed-loop neural stimulation

A new skin vibrator converts simple or complex electrical waveforms into simple or complex mechanical waveforms or vibrations that are applied to the skin and underlying tissues for therapy or pleasure. The complex waveforms may be completely random in response to the output of a random electrical noise generator, or non-random but complex in response to music or speech. In effect, random acoustic vibrations or speech or musical vibrations are induced in the skin and underlying tissues. The vibrator comprises an oblong hollow body having a solenoidal motor mounted inside. The solenoid is partially damped at both extremes of its stroke to buffer the impact within the vibrator and thereby soften the vibration. Wires extend from the vibrator for connection with a signal generator, audio amplifier or other source of the electrical waveforms.
