A pressure sensitive adhesive comprising the polymerization product of a polymerizable composition comprising: (a) one or more (meth)acrylate ester monomers; (b) one or more hydrophilic non-acidic monomers; and (c) reactive, ionic surfactant. Also articles comprising such adhesives and methods for making such adhesives and such articles.

Wet and dry surface adhesives

Adhesive compositions that are optically transparent include a (meth)acrylate-based copolymer having a refractive index of at least 1.48, and particles of a thermoplastic polymer. At least some of the particles have an average particle size that is larger than the wavelength of visible light. The adhesive compositions are prepared by hot melt processing packaged adhesive compositions.

Optically clear hot melt processable high refractive index adhesives

The present application is directed to an acrylic polymer. Specifically, a marking film comprising a film layer which comprises a polymer blend of a first (meth)acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature of 30 degrees C. to 180 degrees C. and a second (meth)acrylic polymer having a glass transition temperature of over &#x2212;80 degrees C. less than 30 degrees C. One from the first and second (meth)acrylic polymers comprises a carboxylic group and another comprises an amide group. The marking film additionally comprises an adhesive layer.

Marking film

The present application provides a primer composition, a method for treating a wet or damp surface with the primer composition, and a method to improve the adhesion of pavement markers to wet or damp surfaces. The primer composition comprises about 5 weight percent to about 90 weight percent of the reaction product of: (i) about 30 to about 70 parts by weight of an (meth)acrylate ester wherein the (meth)acrylate ester; (ii) about 70 to about 30 parts by weight of a hydrophilic acidic comonomer; and (iii) about 10 to about 100 parts based on 100 parts of the sum of the (meth)acrylate ester and the hydrophilic acid comonomer, of a plasticizer; dissolved in about 10 to about 95 weight percent of at least one organic solvent.

Wet or damp surface preparation compositions

Adhesive compositions comprising a high molecular weight acrylic copolymer and a low molecular weight copolymer are disclosed. Adhesive articles and methods of making adhesive compositions and articles are also described.

Adhesive compositions, adhesive articles and methods for making the same

The present application is directed to a non-aqueous composition. The composition comprises a blend of an acidic copolymer derived from a first group of monomers comprising at least one acidic monomer, and a basic copolymer derived from a second group of monomers comprising at least one basic monomer. The basic copolymer may comprise an amide functionality. In some embodiments, the composition comprises an acidic (meth)acrylic copolymer having a Tg less than 0&#xb0; C., which is derived from a first group of monomers comprising at least one acidic monomer, and a basic (meth)acrylic copolymer having a Tg less than 0&#xb0; C., which is derived from a second group of monomers comprising at least one basic monomer. Additionally, the composition may comprise a minimum of 0.10 moles of acid/base pairs per kilogram of composition.

Adhesive composition

Retroreflective sheeting includes a body layer having a structured surface with recessed faces forming cube corner cavities. A reflective film is disposed at least on the recessed faces, and a fill material fills the cube corner cavities. The fill material comprises radiation-curable materials, adhesives, or both, and preferably transparent radiation-curable pressure-sensitive adhesives. The fill material preferably forms a continuous layer covering both the recessed faces and upper portions of the structured surface. A transparent cover layer preferably contacts the fill material layer.

Acoustic sensors, preferably surface acoustic wave sensors, and more preferably shear horizontal surface acoustic wave sensors that include soluble mixed with oligomers and/or polymers formed from such monomers), or multifunctional compounds, for example, that can function as either waveguide materials, immobilization materials for secondary capture agents (e.g., antibodies), or both.

Acoustic sensors and methods

An iodine/iodide-containing hot melt coatable adhesive is provided. This adhesive is prepared by mixing iodine and an iodide salt, individually or in combination, with solubilizing liquids. The iodine and iodide salt are combined with a pre-adhesive composition in a hot melt mixer, with an iodine/iodide complexing agent being present in the mixture. The mixture is mixed at a temperature from about 130&#xb0; C. to about 200&#xb0; C. and sufficiently to form an iodine/iodide-containing hot melt coatable adhesive. Alternatively, the iodide may be generated in situ. The adhesive so prepared may be packaged for coating on a substrate at a later time, or may be immediately coated to form an adhesive composite. Adhesive composites, particularly surgical incise drapes, are provided incorporating this hot melt coatable adhesive.

Iodine/iodide-containing hot melt coatable adhesive, methods and uses therefor

Methods and apparatus of evaluating liquid impact are described that included providing a thin layer of an (e.g. atmospheric) liquid, such as water, on the surface of the test sample while being impacted with a (e.g. polymeric) pellet.

A wet stick pressure sensitive adhesive comprising the solventless polymerization product of: a) about 30 to about 70 parts by weight of an (meth)acrylate ester monomer wherein the (meth)acrylate ester monomer, when homopolymerized, has a Tg of less than about 10&#xb0; C.; b) about 70 to about 30 parts by weight of a hydrophilic acidic comonomer; and c) about 10 to 100 parts based on 100 parts of the sum of components (a+b) of a non-reactive plasticizing agent, wherein the pressure sensitive adhesive adheres to wet substrate surfaces and a method of making.
