A compound receiver receives radio-frequency electromagnetic or other propagating radiation. A filter generates a filtered electrical signal representing at least one selected electromagnetic signal isolated from a monitored electrical signal. A transmitter retransmits, with a specified timing, the selected electromagnetic signal or signals represented within the filtered electrical signal. A protected receiver receives a combination of the electromagnetic signals and the selected electromagnetic signal or signals retransmitted from the transmitter. The protected receiver generates a detected electrical signal representing the combination. A relative position sensor adjusts the specified timing to suppress or cancel the selected electromagnetic signal or signals represented within the detected electrical signal.

A secure data transmission system and method for targeting specific receiver locations. The secure data transmission system includes a time multiplexer, a time delay unit, a receiver tacker, and a plurality of transmitters. Additionally, the secure data transmission system may include a multiplexing sequence, a digital switch, a plurality of empty vectors, a range calculator, a delay estimator, and a plurality of stream time delays. The method for targeting specific receiver location includes receiving an input data stream, multiplexing the input data steam, receiving at least one instantaneous receiver locations, calculating a plurality of transmission ranges for each of the plurality of output data streams, calculating a plurality of time delays for each of the plurality of output data streams, delaying each of the plurality of output data streams according its calculated time delay, and transmitting each of the plurality of output data streams.

Secure data transmission system and method for targeting specific receiver locations

An apparatus for passive coherent location includes a forecaster, an evaluator, a receiver, and a correlator. The forecaster generates a prediction of a radio-frequency signal transmitted from an antenna of a broadcasting service. The evaluator generates an effectiveness metric from the prediction of the radio-frequency signal. The receiver receives the radio-frequency signal that an object reflects from the antenna to the receiver. The correlator determines, from the radio-frequency signal reflected from the object as received at the receiver, an ambiguity function having a maximum at a temporal offset and a Doppler shift. The temporal offset and the Doppler shift at the maximum partially determine at least a position of the object. The apparatus optionally includes a selector for tuning the receiver to the radio-frequency signal in response to the effectiveness metric.

Passive coherent location with a prediction of a broadcast signal

A radar pulse generator includes a multiplexer, a polyphase synthesizer, a first signal channel and a second signal channel. The multiplexer has a baseband radar pulse input, a multiplexer control input, a first channel output and a second channel output. The baseband radar pulse input signal is a single channel baseband radar pulse signal. The multiplexer control input signal selects one of the group consisting of the first channel output and the second channel output. The polyphase synthesizer synthesizes the first channel output signal, synthesizes the second channel output signal and outputs a desired radar pulse signal based on the synthesized first channel output signal and the synthesized second channel output signal. The first signal channel provides the first channel output signal from the first channel output to the polyphase synthesizer. The second signal channel provides the second channel output signal from the second channel output to the polyphase synthesizer.

Multicarrier and frequency hopped radar waveform generator using efficient digital synthesis

A signal processor is provided for use with a first signal generator and a second signal generator, wherein the first signal generator provides a first signal having a first amplitude and the second signal generator provides a second signal having a second amplitude. The signal processor includes: a threshold component that stores a threshold value; a threshold detection component that generates a sum of the first amplitude and the second amplitude, compares the sum with the threshold value, generates a modification required signal when the sum is greater than the threshold value; a delay component that generates a delay signal; and a delay processor operable to output an output signal based on the sum of a modified first signal and the second signal when the sum is greater than the threshold value.

Digital dynamic delay for analog power savings in multicarrier burst waveforms

A spot noise generator includes a mask component, a polyphase synthesizer, a first signal channel and second signal channel. The mask component has a narrowband noise input, a desired frequency channels word input, a first channel output and a second channel output. The narrowband noise input signal is a digital narrowband noise signal sampled approximately at the Nyquist rate. The desired frequency channels word selects one of the group consisting of the first channel output, the second channel output and a combination of the first channel output and the second channel output. The polyphase synthesizer synthesizes the first channel output signal, synthesizes the second channel output signal and outputs a desired noise signal based on the synthesized first channel output signal and the synthesized second channel output signal.

Techniques and methods of spot noise generation utilizing a polyphase synthesizer

A signal detection method that allows characterization of a modulated signal to be efficiently determined. The method comprises the steps of receiving a data signal, processing the data signal to determine its value squaring the value of the signal; filtering the squared signal value to remove DC content; evaluating the resulting signal to determine if a single sinusoidal value remains; and determining that the presence of a single sinusoidal value as the resulting signal from the squaring and filtering steps indicates that the received data signal is a phase-shift key signal or conversely that the absence of such after a given number of cycle of squaring and filtering indicates a different modulation technique is present in the signal.

A coaxial to waveguide transition includes a first rigid portion comprising an inverted hollow cone, a second rigid portion comprising a hollow tube, and a third rigid portion comprising a hollow cone. The first rigid portion has a first end and a second end, and tapers inward at a first angle from its first end towards its second end. The second rigid portion has a first end and a second end, with the first end being partially disposed within the second end of the first rigid portion. The third rigid portion has a first end and a second end, with the first end of the third rigid portion being partially disposed within the second end of the second rigid portion. A system is provided for combining multiple solid-state amplifiers using a radial combiner/divider. The system includes a coaxial input port, a coaxial output port, a first plurality of N waveguides radially disposed around a first transition, a second plurality of N waveguides radially disposed around a second transition, and a plurality of N amplifiers. A first end of each of the first plurality of waveguides is operatively connected to the coaxial input port via the first transition. A first end of each of the second plurality of waveguides is operatively connected to the coaxial output port via the second transition. A first port of each of the plurality of amplifiers is connected to a second end of one of the first plurality of waveguides and a second port of each of the plurality of amplifiers is connected to a second end of one of the second plurality of waveguides.
