Medical delivery devices, such as catheters, and methods of use and manufacture of the medical delivery devices. The medical delivery devices are adapted to facilitate delivery of an agent into a patient. The medical delivery devices may have one or more deformable lumens, each lumen of the one or more deformable lumens has a collapsed configuration and an open configuration. The medical delivery devices may include one or more agent delivery ports, any agent delivery port of the one or more agent delivery ports may be proximal or distal to an expandable device, such as a balloon.

Tissue anchors comprise a woven filament braid body having an elongated tubular configuration and a foreshortened configuration where proximal and distal ends of the body expand radially into double-walled flange structures while leaving a cylindrical saddle region therebetween. The tissue anchors are deployed through penetrations between adjacent tissue layers, where the flanges engage the outer surfaces of the tissue layers and the saddle region resides within the tissue penetrations.

A method of embolizing a tumor includes advancing a distal end of a device having a catheter body and an occlusion structure to a target tumor site within a blood vessel of a body. The occlusion structure is activated within the blood vessel, and a real time pressure measurement in the vascular space distal to the activated occlusion structure is monitored. The method further includes waiting for a pressure drop in the vascular space distal to the activated occlusion structure and for the pressure drop to cause a blood flow reversal in branch vessels antegrade to the occlusion. An embolic substance is injected from the distal end of the delivery device to permit the reversed blood flow to carry the embolic substance into the vasculature of the target tumor and the device is withdrawn from the body. Other catheter assemblies and methods of use are also disclosed.

Device and methods for transvascular tumor embolization

A balloon catheter assembly is provided with an outer catheter, an inner catheter, an outer adapter and a balloon, and is configured such that the balloon resides entirely within a predetermined volume having an outer diameter substantially equal to or less than the outside diameter of the distal end of the outer catheter when the balloon is in a deflated configuration. Methods of using and steering the catheter assemblies are also provided.

A method of transarterial embolization agent delivery at a low pressure is provided. The method comprises advancing a delivery device with an occlusion structure in a retracted non-occlusive configuration through a supply artery to a vascular position in the supply artery that is in the vicinity of a target anatomical structure, the target structure having terminal capillary beds, expanding the occlusion structure from the retracted non-occlusive configuration to an expanded occlusive configuration, lowering a mean arterial pressure in a vascular space distal to the expanded occlusion structure, redirecting fluid flow from the collateral vessels toward the lowered pressure vascular space and into the target anatomical structure, injecting an embolization agent through the delivery device and into the lowered pressure vascular space, and delivering the embolization agent from the lowered pressure vascular space into the target anatomical structure. Other catheter assemblies and methods of use are also disclosed.

Devices and methods for low pressure tumor embolization

A high torque vascular catheter system includes an inner catheter, a proximal outer catheter section, a distal outer catheter section, at least one discrete connection point connecting the inner catheter to the proximal outer catheter section, and at least one discrete connection point connecting the inner catheter to the distal outer catheter section. The distal outer catheter section is more flexible than the proximal outer catheter section. Methods of construction and use of the catheter system are also disclosed.

A catheter assembly may be provided with a catheter body and an inflatable balloon. The catheter body has a proximal end, a distal end and a balloon inflation lumen. The inflatable balloon is attachable to the distal end of the catheter body. The balloon has an inner surface that at least partially defines an interior volume. The balloon is configured such that the interior volume can be in fluid communication with the inflation lumen of the catheter body to inflate the balloon. The balloon also has a proximal surface and a distal surface. The balloon is provided with a channel that extends through the balloon. The channel is configured to provide fluid communication between the proximal surface of the balloon and the distal surface of the balloon. Other catheter assemblies and methods of use are also disclosed.
