The exemplary embodiments relate to converting Standard Dynamic Range (SDR) content to High Dynamic Range (HDR) content using a machine learning system. In some embodiments, the neural network is trained to convert an input SDR image into an HDR image using the encoded representation of a training SDR image and a training HDR image. In other embodiments, the neural network is trained to convert an input SDR image into an HDR image using a predefined set of color grading actions and the training images.

The present disclosure relates to cartilage repair compositions and methods for modifying the proteoglycan content of the compositions. Specifically, the methods relate to serum free, collagen free neocartilage made from chondrocytes that can be used for implants. Proteoglycans, such as aggrecan and sulfated glycosaminoglycan are used and the content modified using temperature changes.

A dilution control device and method of operating the same. The dilution control device can include a structure for dispensing concentrate and diluent fluid in a desired dilution ratio utilizing volumetric dosing. In some embodiments, diluent fluid drives a wheel or compresses a pliable concentrate bag in order to dispense concentrate in the desired ratio with the diluent fluid. In some embodiments, one or more floats can be used to drive a pump or actuate a valve to dispense concentrate at a particular rate proportional with the flow rate of the diluent fluid. In some embodiments, a rocker is responsive to the flow of diluent fluid to pump concentrate. In some embodiments, the dilution control device can be operable to automatically modulate the dispense rate of concentrate when the diluent fluid flow rate is varied in order to maintain a predetermined dilution ratio.

A shear device is disclosed. The shear device includes a material guiding mechanism, a shear head including a shear blade disposed proximate the material guiding mechanism, and a linkage for translating a first movement of one of the shear head and the material guiding mechanism into a second movement of the other of the shear head and the material guiding mechanism. A microphone/pickup system employing a digital signal throughout. There are a plurailty of digital microphone/pickup devices each comprising, a microphone/pickup element for sensing sound vibrations and for producing an analog electrical signal reflecting the sound vibrations at an output thereof. An analog to digital converter is directly connected to receive the analog electrical signal at an input thereof and produce a digital signal reflecting the sound vibrations at an output thereof, the output of the analog to digital converter being the output of the microphone/pickup device. Preferably, there is a support structure carrying each microphone/pickup element and its associated analog to digital converter in combination as well as a plurality of user devices disposed at a location removed from the support structure and operatively connected to receive and use the digital signal from respective ones of the digital microphone/pickup devices. Wireless RF broadcasting microphones and pickups are employed as are wireless transmission of the digital signals by light beam and through optic fiber cables. When wirelessly connecting a plurality of microphone/pickup devices to, for example, a mixer board, the microphone/pickup devices employ selectable RF carriers with the light beams and the mixer channels each have the ability to detect the light beams and select the carrier frequency to be associated therewith whereby the mixer channels can each select which microphone/pickup device it is to control. A microphone/pickup device including a volume control responsive to a return light signal from a mixer channel is also employed. Large systems are shown employing RF or IR transmission of the signals from the stage area to a remote mixer board location.
