The invention relates to a process for obtaining at least one aromatic amine from a liquid mixture comprising water and the at least one aromatic amine by extracting with at least one nitroaromatic in an extraction column () to form an essentially water-comprising raffinate stream and an extract stream comprising the at least one nitroaromatic and the aromatic amine. The extraction column () is divided by a dividing wall () into two regions (), and, in the case of an amount of liquid for separation which is less than a minimum cross sectional loading of the entire extraction column (), the liquid mixture to be separated is fed only to one of the regions () of the extraction column () divided by the dividing wall (). The invention further relates to a process for preparing an aromatic amine and to an apparatus for separating a liquid mixture comprising water and at least one aromatic amine by extracting with at least one nitroaromatic, comprising an extraction column ().

Process for preparing an aromatic amine and apparatus therefor

Process and apparatus for oxidizing organic compounds

Olefins having at least 6 carbon atoms are bydroformylated in the presence of a homogenous catalyst in a continuous process in which a) a vertical tall cylindrical reactor () whose interior space is divided by means of internals (). into at least two reaction chambers which extend essentially in the longitudinal direction of the reactor is used, b) at least one olefin is introduced into the reactor together with synthesis gas at the lower end of the first reaction chamber, c) a partially reacted reaction mixture is conveyed from the upper end of a reaction chamber to the lower end of a next reaction chamber; and d) the hydroformylated olefin is taken off at the upper end of the last reaction chamber. The process allows a high conversion at a given reactor volume.

A reactor () of high cylindrical construction for continuously carrying out gas-liquid, liquid-liquid or gas-liquid-solid reactions, provided with a downward-directed jet nozzle () via which the starting materials and the reaction mixture are fed in and which is located in the upper region of the reactor, and provided with an offtake (), preferably in the lower region of the reactor, via which the reaction mixture is conveyed via an external circuit back to the jet nozzle () by means of a pump (P), wherein a guide tube () which extends essentially over the total length of the reactor () with the exception of the reactor ends and has a cross-sectional area in the range from one tenth to one half of the cross-sectional area of the reactor () is located concentrically in the reactor (), and the jet nozzle () is located above the upper end of the guide tube (), preferably at a distance of from one eighth of the guide tube diameter to one guide tube diameter, or projects into the guide tube () to a depth up to a plurality of guide tube diameters is proposed.
