An armrest console includes an armrest, a fixed gear coupled to a top of a storage compartment in the armrest console, an elevating gear coupled to the armrest; a dampener gear engaged with the elevating gear and the fixed gear, and a gear connector to receive the elevating gear and the dampener gear. When the armrest is rotated about an axis of the elevating gear in a counterclockwise direction to open, the elevating gear is rotated in the counterclockwise direction and the dampener gear is rotated in a clockwise direction and both the elevating gear and the dampener gear are rotated about an axis of the fixed gear, and wherein the elevating gear and the dampener gear are moved up at a height direction when the armrest is rotated to open.

Inertial lock systems for push-push latch style vehicle drawers or storage bins including an inertia lock to maintain a drawer in a closed position under a g-force. A shaft is rotatably mounted on a drawer housing; an inertia member is mounted on the shaft; and a confining member is mounted on the shaft and disposed opposite to the inertia member. The confining member is configured to move to a position to restrict movement of a rotating latch of the drawer when a g-forced applied to the drawer exceeds a predetermined level.

A fastener is provided to be pre-assembled to a substrate. The fastener comprises a shaft having a first end and a second end opposite the first end, and a thread portion adjacent to the second end; a head disposed on the first end; and a unidirectional retention member between the head and the thread portion. The unidirectional retention member is configured to pass through a mounting hole of the substrate in one direction such that the fastener is retained on the substrate once the unidirectional retention member has passed through the mounting hole.

A cup holder retainer is provided. The cup holder retainer includes a support frame and a preloaded retainer clip. The preloaded retainer clip is connected to the support frame by a living hinge and an integral biasing element that biases the preloaded retainer clip into a cup-engaging position.

A clip for a vehicle door assembly includes a base, a plurality of fingers forming an expandable opening, and an arm extending from the base for locating the clip within the door assembly. Each of the fingers includes an inward projecting tab at least partially defining the expandable opening such that a tip of a pin contacts the inward projecting tabs during insertion of the pin causing the plurality of fingers to expand outward to an expanded position allowing the pin to enter the expandable opening until the inward projecting tabs align with a groove formed in the pin adjacent the tip wherein the inward projecting tabs enter the groove allowing the plurality of fingers to return to a natural position and secure the pin in position. Inner and outer members of the door assembly secure the clip therebetween for receiving pins associated with movement of the door.

A cup holder assembly includes a door configured for translation between an open and a closed configuration, at least one receiver sidewall, and at least one first cup holder surface provided by a bottom surface of the door and configured to upwardly extend at least a portion of the receiver sidewall when the door is disposed in an open configuration. A retention system for a container is provided, including at least one container biasing member and at least one container supporting member. The container biasing member may be door-mounted or receiver sidewall-mounted.

An assembly for mounting a door with a vehicle compartment includes an arm coupled with the compartment and with the door, a track fixed with the compartment, and a carrier pivotably coupled with the door and slidable along the track. The assembly further includes a spring coupled between the door and the compartment such that a contraction of the spring alone causes the door to move with rotation of the arm and movement of the carrier along the track. A track cover engages the carrier to prevent disengagement of the carrier from the track.

The present invention in one or more embodiments provides a console support panel which includes a first portion defining a cavity to receive therein a pivot shaft of an inertia block; and a second portion positioned next to the first portion and to support a movable cover, wherein the first portion further includes a lead-in rib extending into the cavity to restrain translational movement of the pivot shaft. In certain embodiments, the lead-in rib includes first and second lead-in ribs to restrain translational movement of first and second ends of the pivot shaft, respectively.
