A method performed using a computer includes receiving a cumulative consumption value for a printing fluid corresponding to a supply from a printer at the computer. The method also includes calculating a plurality of variable values by way of the cumulative consumption value for the printing fluid, a statistically derived depletion quantity for the printing fluid, and an estimated time to ship a supply of replacement printing fluid to the printer to form calculated variable values. The method also includes causing the supply of replacement printing fluid to be shipped to the printer in accordance with the calculating.

Providing replacement printing fluid to a printer

Examples include printing devices configured for use with a plurality of replaceable supplies. A remaining amount of printing material may be monitored for each replaceable supply. A set of one or more replaceable supplies to be replaced may be determined based at least in part on the remaining amount of printing material for each replaceable supply and an amount of printing material corresponding to performing a service routine for supply replacement.

In one example of the disclosure, environmental data indicative of an environmental factor measured at a printer is received via a network. The receipt of the environmental data is via an authorized non-anonymous data flow from the printer. Instructions for a service event to occur at the printer are determined based upon the environmental data. The service event instructions are sent, via the network, to the printer to cause the printer to perform the service event.

A fluid container ship cap seals a plurality of fluid interconnects of a fluid container during one or both of shipping and storage. The fluid container ship cap includes an elastomeric seal having a plurality of fluidic sealing members to seal a corresponding plurality of fluid interconnects. The fluid container ship cap further includes a rigid shell to rotate the fluid container ship cap about an axis of rotation at a fulcrum provided by a first fluidic sealing member of the plurality of fluidic sealing members. The elastomeric seal is affixed to the rigid shell.

A printer credit management method is disclosed, the method includes receiving a code at a printer. From the code, a printer identifier and a credit value are discerned. It is determined if the printer identifier corresponds to a unique identifier assigned to the printer. Only upon a positive determination, a credit balance maintained by the printer is updated to include the credit value.

A liquid permeable interconnect membrane for a liquid supply outlet, and a void between the interconnect membranes and an opposite void wall, the interconnect membrane being stiff enough to avoid unwanted pore deformation or contact with the opposite void wall.

In one example, a fluid cartridge for an inkjet type liquid dispensing device includes a housing having a chamber therein for holding a liquid, a vent through which air may enter the chamber, and an outlet through which liquid may pass from the chamber out of the housing. A capillary material is disposed in the chamber between the vent and the outlet so that, when the capillary material is sufficiently depleted of liquid, the capillary material forms an airway from the vent to the outlet. The outlet configured to cause an abrupt break in a liquid connection in the outlet as air enters the outlet through the capillary material.

An ink supply container includes a first portion and a second portion. The first portion is configured to hold a first volume of ink and is configured to be releasably connectable to a printhead. The second portion is configured to hold a second volume of ink and is in communication with the first portion. The second portion is configured to extend over a top of at least one other ink supply container upon releasable connection of the first portion of the container to a printhead assembly.

A method of forming an opening through a substrate having a first side and a second side opposite the first side includes laser machining a first portion of the opening into the substrate from the second side toward the first side, and abrasive machining a second portion of the opening into the substrate. Abrasive machining the second portion of the opening into the substrate includes completing the opening through the substrate.

An ink container usable with an image forming apparatus having a carriage to transport the ink container in a reciprocating motion across a substrate and an ink ejector to eject the ink onto the substrate is included. The ink container includes a chamber configured to supply ink to the ink ejector of the image forming apparatus. The ink container also includes a separation member disposed within the chamber configured to separate unwanted particles from the ink in response to the reciprocating motion of the carriage and gravity, and to direct the ink downstream to the ink ejector.
