A method of designing a nanostructure, comprises: receiving a far field optical response and material properties; feeding the synthetic far field optical response and material properties to an artificial neural network having at least three hidden layers; and extracting from the artificial neural network a shape of a nanostructure corresponding to the far field optical response.

Method and system for characterizing a nanostructure by machine learning

An interferometer system comprises a light redirecting system for splitting an input light beam into two secondary light beams to respectively propagate along a first optical arm and a second optical arm, and for recombining the secondary light beams after exiting the optical arms. The interferometer system also comprises a multipass optical cell positioned at the second optical arm for effecting a predetermined optical path length within the second arm.

Interferometer system and application thereof

An imaging system comprises a light source generating a pump beam, and an optical coupling system for receiving an input beam of infrared light from a scene and combining the input beam with the pump beam, wherein an intensity of the pump beam is higher than an intensity of the input beam. The imaging system further comprises a crystal configured for adiabatically mixing the beams and providing an output beam having a frequency which is a sum of frequencies of the input and pump beams, and a visible, near-infrared or ultraviolet light imager configured for collecting and to spectrally resolving the output beam.

Multi-frequency infrared imaging based on frequency conversion

This disclosure provides systems, methods, and apparatus related to nanophotonics. In one aspect, an arrangement of waveguides includes a substrate and three waveguides. Each of the three waveguides may be a linear waveguide. A second waveguide is positioned between a first waveguide and a third waveguide. The dimensions and positions of the first, the second, and the third waveguides are specified to substantially eliminate coupling between the first waveguide and the third waveguide over a distance of about 1 millimeter to 2 millimeters along lengths of the first waveguide, the second waveguide, and the third waveguide.
