Silicon (Si) based high temperature coatings and base materials and methods of making those materials. More specifically, methods and materials having silicon, oxygen and carbon containing polymer derived ceramic liquids that form filled and unfiled coatings, including high temperature crack resistant coatings.

A polysilocarb effect pigments, uncoated and coated, that exhibit among other things optical properties such as interference, shine, shimmer and sparkle. Pastes and coating including these polysilocarb effect pigments.

Polymer derived ceramic effects particles, uses and methods of making

Ceramic black materials for use as, or in, colorants, inks, pigments, dyes, additives and formulations utilizing these black materials. Black ceramics having silicon, oxygen and carbon, and methods of making these ceramics; formulations utilizing these black ceramics; and devices, structures and apparatus that have or utilize these formulations. Plastics, paints, inks, coatings, formulations, liquids and adhesives containing ceramic black materials, preferably polymer derived black ceramic materials, and in particular polysilocarb polymer derived ceramic materials.

Black ceramic additives, pigments, and formulations

Ceramic black materials for use as, or in, colorants, inks, pigments, dyes, additives and formulations utilizing these black materials. Black ceramics having silicon, oxygen and carbon, and methods of making these ceramics; formulations utilizing these black ceramics; and devices, structures and apparatus that have or utilize these formulations. Plastics, paints, inks, coatings, formulations, liquids and adhesives containing ceramic black materials, preferably polymer derived black ceramic materials, and in particular polysilocarb polymer derived ceramic materials. The particular polysilocarb ceramics materials found in the claimed coatings and materials contain a specific amount of C, Si and O, as well as a specific amount of free and Si bonded carbon.

The instant materials are particles which are pyrolyzed and are defined by having a specific Si, C and O content and having carbon which is both free and silicon bound. The particles are prepared by specific processes, as defined herein.
