This disclosure describes a system and a method for assigning pixels within agricultural imagery collected from overhead platforms to one or more classes based on spectral and/or spatial content. The system comprises one or more hardware processors configured by machine-readable instructions to: receive output signals provided by one or more remote sensing devices mounted to an overhead platform, the output signals conveying information related to one or more agricultural images; and assign pixels within the agricultural images to one or more classes based on spectral and/or spatial content of the agricultural images, wherein the one or more classes include a signal class and a noise class.

This disclosure describes a system and a method for determining statistics of plant populations based on overhead optical measurements. The system may include one or more hardware processors configured by machine-readable instructions to receive output signals provided by one or more remote sensing devices mounted to an overhead platform. The output signals may convey information related to one or more images of a land area where crops are grown. The one or more hardware processors may be configured by machine-readable instructions to distinguish vegetation from background clutter; segregate image regions corresponding to the vegetation from image regions corresponding to the background clutter; and determine a plant count per unit area.

Systems and methods for determining statistics plant populations based on overhead optical measurements

Spatially variable data associated with a geographical region such as a map or image from multiple samples acquired by one or more airborne vehicles taken across sub-regions of the geographical region may be aggregating and displayed. High-resolution image data of a geographical region acquired by one or more airborne vehicles may be obtained. The image data may comprise images corresponding to sub-regions of the geographical region. The images may be acquired at an image resolution corresponding to a first spatial frequency. Individual images may be analyzed to determine statistical information corresponding to the sub-regions of the geographical region. The statistical information corresponding to the sub-regions of the geographical region may be provided, for presentation to a user, by resampling the statistical information based on a second spatial frequency. The second spatial frequency may be equal to or less than the first spatial frequency.

Systems and methods for aggregating and facilitating the display of spatially variable geographic data acquired by airborne vehicles

Systems and methods are provided for calibrating spectral measurements taken of one or more targets from an aerial vehicle. Multiple photo sensors may be configured to obtain spectral measurements of one or more ambient light sources. The obtained spectral measurements of the one or more ambient light sources may be used to calibrate the obtained spectral measurements of the target.
