Weighing apparatus

A weighing device () has a weighing unit (), a control unit and at least one application unit (). The application unit is positioned within a secondary unit () that also has a receiving unit. The control unit has a unit for transmitting data. The weighing unit comprises load receivers () and a power transmitting unit. The secondary unit is placed on the load receivers, leaving a gap between the top side of the weighing unit and the bottom side of the secondary unit. The weighing unit transmits a power signal from the power transmitting unit to the receiving unit of the secondary unit through the gap and a control signal is transmitted from the data transmitting unit to the receiving unit of the secondary unit through the gap. The secondary unit, and in turn the application unit, is powered and controlled in a contactless manner.

A head () is associated with a device () for dispensing measured dosages of a free-flowing material. The head has housing () with an interior space () with a fill opening () and a discharge orifice (). A shutter bolt () is arranged in the housing to open and close the discharge orifice () and to loosen and advance the material. The head () has a dispensing position, in which the shutter bolt is oriented substantially vertically and a fill position. In the dispensing position, the material is dispensed through the discharge orifice (). In the fill position, material is filled through the fill opening (), which is positioned laterally on the housing when the head is in the dispensing position. A rest surface () is diametrically opposite the fill opening, so that the head lies on its rest surface in the fill position.

Dosage-dispensing head

An apparatus and a method detect the presence of solid particles in a liquid phase, where an at least partially transparent container encloses the solid particles and the liquid phase. The apparatus includes a camera to make digitized images in the form of arrays of pixels with their associated pixel values. The apparatus also includes an agitator device to hold the container and to impart movements to the container, transmitting kinetic energy to the mixture. The camera is aimed at a transparent portion of the container to take images of the mixture in motion. A processor unit, in electronic communication with the camera, receives and processes the digitized images of the mixture in motion, resulting in the generation of an analytical representation of the solid particles in the liquid. In this manner, the state of dissolution of the solid particles may be determined.
