The stereoscopic recording and evaluation of a monitoring area frequently requires high computer powers. A control device () for a camera apparatus () for the stereoscopic recording of a monitoring area is proposed. In this case, recorded monitoring images () have their resolution reduced in particular areas by a processing module and are converted into reduced images (). The reduced images have a high-resolution section () and a low-resolution section (), wherein the high-resolution section () is a respective section showing a distant area of the monitoring area (), the distant area being an area of the monitoring area () that is further away from the camera apparatus () than a bounding object area (G). An evaluation module () is used to stereoscopically evaluate the monitoring area () based on the first reduced image () and the second reduced image ().

A monitoring camera apparatus, having a camera for recording a monitoring region with at least one object from a recording position of the camera. The apparatus also includes an actuator for changing the recording position of the camera and a control device for driving the actuator and the camera. A first image is recordable in a first recording position of the camera, and a second image is recordable in a second recording position of the camera. The first and second images show at least one identical subsection with the at least one object of the monitoring region as a common subsection. An evaluation device for evaluating the images of the camera is configured to determine depth information concerning the at least one object in the common subsection from the first and second images.

Thereby, type data are able to be recorded even in the case of a status acquisition device installed in an obstructed way in a motor vehicle.

A device for classifying the seat occupancy in a motor vehicle by which the accuracy in the detection of child seats may be increased is provided. The seats of the motor vehicle are each equipped with a safety belt, a belt buckle for the safety belt and a belt-buckle switch. The device includes at least one belt-force sensor for at least one safety belt. According to the present invention, the belt-force sensor and the belt-buckle switch assigned to the respective safety belt are interconnected in such a way that the output signals of the belt-force sensor and the belt-buckle switch are combined into one belt-buckle output signal.

An identification device for retrofitting a child seat is provided for detecting the child seat on a vehicle seat in a motor vehicle by means of a child seat detection device. A transceiver component, connected to a control and evaluation device, for transmitting an electromagnetic transmission signal and for receiving an electromagnetic reception signal, is arranged as part the child seat detection device in the vehicle seat or in the direct vicinity of the vehicle seat. The reception of the transmission signal in the identification device causes transmission of the reception signal. The identification device has external wiring. By means of a defined mechanical manipulation which brings about a defined change in the external wiring, the identification device can be changed from an inactive initial state to an active state.

The invention provides a testable foil pressure sensor constructed of two carrier foils which are laminated together. The first carrier foil is coated with a semiconductor material, while the second carrier foil has two adjacent strip conductors which can each be bonded on both ends and which, within spatially bounded areas which form sensor elements, have &ldquo;comb&rdquo; structures, with individual fingers which mesh with one another in a no-contact manner.
