In an example, a method is performed by a computing system that is one of a group of computing systems involved in facilitating a manufacturing of an aircraft. The method comprises generating a plurality of manufacturing task work statements (MTWSs), each MTWS being associated with a task involved in the manufacturing and comprising smart contract data and computer code. The method also comprises receiving system state information indicating (i) a schedule according to which the aircraft is to be manufactured, (ii) resources available for use in executing the MTWSs, and (iii) one or more aircraft certification requirements with which the tasks involved in the manufacturing of the aircraft are to comply. The method also comprises executing the MTWSs based on the system state information and storing, in a blockchain-based distributed ledger accessible by the group of computing systems, an end state result of the execution of each MTWS.

Real-time optimization of aircraft manufacturing task management

An example system for determining relative position information includes a plurality of positioning devices for determining relative position data within a three-dimensional space, each positioning device having a line of sight. The relative position data determined via each positioning device includes relative position data with respect to the positioning device for each other positioning device within its line of sight. The system further includes a plurality of imaging devices for obtaining image data of an object within the three-dimensional space. The system also includes a computing device configured to correlate the relative position data determined via the plurality of positioning devices and the image data obtained via the plurality of imaging devices, to thereby determine relative position information corresponding to the object within the three-dimensional space.

Intra-sensor relative positioning

A method including placing first and second measurement devices proximate first and second aircraft doors, respectively, and determining a first position of the second measurement device relative to a second position of the first measurement device. The method includes placing first and second pluralities of reflective devices inside the aircraft proximate the first and second doors, respectively. The method includes measuring first and second distances from the first and second measurement devices to the first and second pluralities of reflective devices, respectively, and measuring second distances from the second measurement device to the second plurality of reflective devices. Based on a determined position of the second measurement device and further based on the first distances and second distances, third distances are determined between each of the first and second pluralities of reflective devices. The third distances provide a measurement baseline for points on a fuselage and wings.

A kinetic energy system which transfers the kinetic landing into recoverable electric energy for an aircraft. The system incorporates at least one wheel supporting the aircraft for landing and takeoff coupled with a dynamic functioning motor/generator mounted to and operated by rotation of the wheel to create electrical energy from kinetic energy. An induction shoe structurally connected to the aircraft and electrically connected to the motor/generator, which shoe draws the converted energy from the generator which supplies the load created by the inductively coupled induction shoe to the an ancillary load provided by the resistive heat sink on by the capacitor storage bank. This provides the generator circuit for conversion of the rotational energy of the wheel to electrical energy and creates braking drag. In exemplary embodiments, the system employs an energy storage system acting as the load to store electrical potential energy created by the generator. Additionally, the generator is employable as a motor, receiving energy from the storage system for traction power to the associated aircraft wheel. An induction grid or a surface mounted conductive layer mounted into or onto a runway is employed for transferring energy to and from the motor/generator.
