Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on a computer storage medium, for creating experiment content distribution campaigns ('experiment campaign') and allocating content in accordance with the experiment campaign. In one aspect, a control campaign or an experiment campaign are selected as an available campaign for providing content in response to receiving a content request. The selection can be a probability constrained selection where the probability with which the experiment campaign is selected is specified as a portion of a total number of requests received during an experiment period for which the experiment campaign is available to provide content. Content is provided in response to the request, where the provided content being content corresponding to the selected campaign.

User queries are received, with each query requesting a service from a server. Overlapping experiments are performed on at least a portion of the queries, with each experiment modifying one or more parameters associated with the queries or parameters associated with processing of the queries, and with the experiments organized into layers. Two or more experiments in different layers are allowed to be performed on the same query, and for any given layer, at most one experiment is allowed to be performed on the same query.

Adaptive website optimization can include collecting statistics associated with a number of landing page configurations and identifying a preferred group of landing page configurations during the pendency of an experiment based upon the collected statistics and preferentially selecting a landing page configuration from the preferred group of options for display by an instrumented web page associated with the experiment.

A predictive modeling system and methodology makes predictions using unstructured content as an input, either alone or in conjunction with structured content. Content transformation rules are selected for application to the unstructured content, such as emails, call center notes, and other forms of human communication, by identifying the rules that are likely to improve the performance of a predictive modeling system.

The present invention provides for a system and method of assigning attribute scores, including those for abstract and diverse concepts such as sentiment (e.g., happiness, anger, sadness) to documents containing unstructured content (natural language content). Such content may include, but is not limited to, Web pages, e-mails, word processing documents, computer logs, chat logs, audio files, graphical images, text files, books, magazines, articles, etc. The attributes that are scored are specialized views of the unstructured content. Accordingly, attribute scoring denotes the processes of assigning one or more new measures to a document containing unstructured content. The attribute score or measure indicates the degree of the attributes found within the document.

An alarm system in which local transmitters emit substantially pure acoustic signals for at least a predetermined minimum interval. The receiver includes a microphone and amplifier for transducing the acoustic signals into electrical signals. These electrical signals pass through two bandpass stages, the second being a phase locked loop circuit. An RC timing network is connected to the second bandpass circuit. After about 7500 cycles of the electrical signal have been received an 'alarm received' signal occurs. The 'alarm received' signal is applied to the triggering input of a free-running pulse generator which supplies pulse trains to a counter and is itself halted when the counter reaches a first intermediate state. A second 'alarm received' signal is required to restart the free-running pulse generator and thus advance the counter beyond said first intermediate state. Thereafter, when the counter reaches a second intermediate state, the occurrence of the corresponding second intermediate state signal actuates a suitable alarm signal to warn of intrusion or some other hazardous condition.
