A bearing is mounted to a static structure outwardly of the shaft, and supporting the shaft. A bearing compartment is defined by face seal arrangements on each of two axial sides of a bearing. Each face seal arrangement includes a seal seat rotating with the shaft and a non-rotating sealing ring. The seal housing is exposed to high pressure air outward of the bearing compartment. A coil spring biases the seal housing towards the seal seat, such that the sealing face is biased into contact with the seal seat by a bias force including a net fluid force acting on the seal housing and the coil spring. The sealing face is defined by a contact portion contacting the seal seat and a feed portion recessed from the seal seat. The feed portion includes a plurality of circumferentially spaced feed slots fluidly connected to at least one annular groove.

An assembly is provided for rotational equipment. This assembly includes a seal carrier, a seal element and a retainer. The seal carrier is configured with a receptacle. The seal element is seated in the receptacle. The retainer is configured to secure the seal element to the seal carrier. The seal element surface is abutted against and is sealingly engaged with the seal land surface. The seal element passage extends through the seal element to an interface between the seal element surface and the seal land surface.

The seal land extends circumferentially around and is configured to rotate about an axial centerline. The seal element is abutted against and is sealingly engaged with the seal land. The seal element is configured to flow lubricant from the seal element passage, through the porous material, to the exterior surface.

A fluid delivery device is provided that includes a sleeve and a tube. The sleeve extends axially along an axis between a sleeve first end and a sleeve second end. The sleeve extends radially from a sleeve inner side to a sleeve outer side. The sleeve extends circumferentially around the axis thereby forming an internal bore at least partially formed by a bore surface at the sleeve inner side. The internal bore extends axially along the axis through sleeve between the sleeve first end and the sleeve second end. The tube is connected to the sleeve and projects out from the sleeve outer side to a tube distal end. The tube is configured with a delivery device fluid passage fluidly coupled with the internal bore. The delivery device fluid passage extends radially through the tube to a fluid passage outlet at the tube distal end.

An assembly is provided for rotational equipment. This assembly includes a stationary structure, a rotating structure, a seal element and an anti-rotation lock. The rotating structure is rotatable about an axis. The rotating structure is configured as or otherwise includes a seal land. The seal element is configured to seal a gap between the stationary structure and the seal land. The seal element extends circumferentially about the axis. The seal element axially contacts the seal land. The anti-rotation lock projects radially into the stationary structure and the seal element. The anti-rotation lock is configured to at least substantially prevent rotation of the seal element relative to the stationary structure.

The width is oriented in the first direction.

A second seat includes a radial segment extending circumferentially around the center axis and extending radially from an inner surface to an outer surface of the radial segment. The axial segment includes a tapered outer surface that tapers radially inward toward the distal end. The distal end is received in the cavity.

An assembly is provided for a gas turbine engine. This gas turbine engine assembly includes a pin, a seal support assembly and a seal element. The pin is configured with a pin fluid passage. The seal support assembly is mated with and slidable along the pin. The seal element is mounted to the seal support assembly. The seal element is configured with a seal element fluid passage that is fluidly coupled with the pin fluid passage through the seal support assembly.

A ring seal in a gas turbine engine includes a ring seal body, an axial sealing dam, a radial sealing dam, and at least one bleed slot. The ring seal body is annular in shape and has a first axial side, a second axial side, a radially outer side, and a radially inner side. The axial sealing dam is on the first axial side and is configured to provide a first sealing surface with a first component. The radial sealing dam is on the radially outer side and is configured to provide a second sealing surface with a second component radially outward from the radially outer side. The at least one bleed slot is on the second axial side and configured to allow fluid to pass through when the ring seal is incorrectly oriented such that the at least one bleed slot is adjacent to the first component.
