A heater system for an LED light assembly having a lens includes a flexible composite positioned around an outer surface of the lens. The flexible composite includes a polymer base layer, a plurality of conductive buses provided on the base layer, and a resistive layer electrically connecting the plurality of buses to form a circuit. The resistive layer includes conductor particles dispersed in a polymer matrix. The resistive layer has a crystalline first condition prior to applying electricity to one of the buses and an amorphous second condition in response to applying electricity to one of the buses.

Light assembly heater systems, apparatus, and methods

A heater system for an LED light assembly having a lens and a plurality of LED lights includes a heating element positioned behind and spaced from the lens and having openings aligned with the LED lights for allowing light from the LED lights to pass therethrough.

A self regulating heating device includes a first layer made of an electrically insulating material. The first layer is thin and flexible. First and second buses spaced from each other are connected to the first layer. A resistive layer electrically connects the first and second buses. The resistive layer has a higher electrical resistance than the second layer. The resistive layer experiences a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect when heated. A solar active layer is connected to the first layer. The solar active layer is electrically connected to the first and second buses. The solar active layer converts light into electrical energy to apply a voltage across the first and second buses.

Self-regulating heating device

The present invention is directed to a self regulating heater including a first layer made of a thin and flexible electrically insulating material. A second electrically conductive layer includes first and second buses spaced from each other. A third resistive layer electrically connects the first and second buses. The third layer has a higher electrical resistance than the second layer. The third layer experiences a positive temperature coefficient (PTC) effect when heated. A fourth interface layer directly connected to at least one of the second electrically conductive layer and the third resistive layer directly engages skin of a patient when the heater is attached to the patient. A combined thickness of the first layer, the second conductive layer, the third resistive layer and the fourth layer may be between 5 mil and 20 mil.

A seat cushion includes a support member. A cover encloses the support member. A self-regulating heating device extends between the support member and an upper portion of the cover.

A heater system for resisting fog and ice buildup on advanced driver assistance cameras provides a chamber covering the camera lens and providing a transparent window through which the camera lens may be directed. A heating element communicates with an air gap between the lens and the transparent window and the periphery of the transparent window to provide heating of the transparent window without blocking an image received by the camera lens.

Camera heater for advanced driver assistance system

The present invention relates to a combination heater and occupant sensor device that may be used in an automobile seat. The device will heat a seat and sense the mass of an occupant in the seat. The device provides the ability to combine occupant sensors with a seat heater without damaging the sensors or obtaining incorrect sensor readings. The sensor results may be processed and used to control air bag deployment, for example, or to indicate if the seat belt of an occupied seat is not being employed. To provide flexibility of the device during use, the device may be formed on a polymer substrate and configured to include apertures throughout. In addition, in the heating portion of the device, conductive material may be blended in a polymer and the device may be configured to limit conductor cracking after repeated flexing of the device thus extending the life of the device.

Seat heater with occupant sensor

A power distribution system is provided for an automobile mirror assembly or the like, and includes a flexible membrane having electrical traces electrically connected to the vehicle electrical system, and connecting sites for electrically connecting to various power consumers in the mirror assembly.

Power distribution system

A solderless pin connection for a printed circuit board wherein a substrate is printed with polymer thick film. The substrate includes an inner surface defining a hole. The polymer thick film is applied along a top surface of the substrate and along the inner surface. The polymer thick film may additionally be applied along a bottom surface of the substrate with an additional layer along the inner surface. A pin, having a diameter less than a diameter of the hole, is press fit within the polymer thick film along the inner surface the pin. The pin is staked with respect to the substrate using a mechanical connection such as barbs or a folded portion on a staked end of the pin.
