An anomaly detection module is configured to apply a plurality of machine learning models to received technical status data to detect one or more indicators of an abnormal technical status prevailing in the industrial process system. The plurality of machine learning models are trained on historic raw or pre-processed sensor data and the anomaly detection module configured to generate the anomaly alert based on the one or more indicators. The received technical status data is assigned to signal groups and the generated anomaly alert is a vector with each vector element representing a group anomaly indicator for the respective signal group. Each vector element is determined by applying a respective group specific machine learning model.

Computer system and method for monitoring the technical state of industrial process systems

The present invention discloses a method for controlling a process using a plurality of regulatory controllers () connected to a remote supervisory controller () over a communication link () and to a local supervisory controller () over a process bus (). The remote supervisory controller () controls the regulatory controllers () over the communication link () with the use of a remote process model. During operation of the plant a local process model is configured in the local supervisory controller () with control data send on the communication link (). Upon failure of the communication link () the local supervisory controller () takes over the control through the process bus (), acting as a redundant or a backup controller. The method comprises: monitoring transmission of control data between the remote supervisory controller () and the plurality of controllers () over the communication link (); determining functional correlations between measured process variables and control process variables, based on the control data and a predetermined correlation function; configuring local process model based on the determined functional correlations; and providing intermediate set points using the configured local process model, upon an intermediate failure of the communication link (), where the communication link recovers from the intermediate failure within a predetermined time period.

A method of controlling fluid flow in a fluid network system by fluid machines includes obtaining a respective current flow rate associated with each fluid machine, obtaining a current fluid machine speed of each fluid machine, obtaining desired flow rates in the system, and determining a new fluid machine speed for each fluid machine based on the current fluid machine speed and a change in the fluid machine speed required to obtain the desired flow rates. The change in fluid machine speed is determined by minimizing a total fluid machine power which is a function dependent of the change in the fluid machine speed, the minimization being performed with constraints for flow rate, fluid machine pressure and fluid machine speed. The method include controlling the speed of the fluid machines according to the new fluid machine speeds such that the minimum total fluid machine power in the system is attained.

Method and system for fluid flow control in a fluid network system

A method and device for controlling a melting and refining process in an electric arc furnace for melting a metal, wherein the electric arc furnace includes molten and solid metal and a slag layer on the surface of the molten metal, wherein an electromagnetic stirrer is arranged for stirring the molten metal. The method includes calculating/determining masses of the molten and solid metal at a point of time, wherein the calculation is based on initial values of the molten and solid metal, an arc power supplied to the electric arc furnace, and temperatures of the molten and solid metal, determining a stirring power based on the calculated/determined masses, and supplying the determined stirring power to the electromagnetic stirrer.

A method of controlling fluid flow in a fluid network system by means of a plurality of fluid machines. The disclosure provides a simple empirical method of identifying network characteristics of the fluid network system used for providing the required fluid flow rate in the fluid network system utilizing minimal fluid machine power. The method includes the steps of determining a relation between a change in fluid machine speed and a corresponding change in fluid flow rate for each of the plurality of fluid machines empirically; determining a minimum total fluid machine power which provides a minimum required flow rate in the fluid network system based on a constraint involving the relation between the fluid flow rate and the corresponding fluid machine speed, and controlling a speed of the plurality of fluid machines such that the minimum total fluid machine power in the fluid network system is attained.
