The present invention relates particularly to a system and method for providing product data for use in on-line product catalogs used for promotional schemes, such as loyalty and incentive schemes. Loyalty and incentive systems are well known, where participants gain virtual currency which they can use to purchase goods or services. The present invention enables a plurality of on-line catalogs to be constructed from a stream of supplier data. Selection criteria are used to select product data from the supplier data to go in each catalog. The product data can be updated in real time for each catalog on the basis of the selection criteria.

System and method for providing data for on-line product catalogues

A nail device includes a flexible nail adapted to be inserted into a medullary canal of a bone and a fixation bracket attached via a connector to a head. The nail has an elongated distal tip body and a proximal head. A longitudinal axis of the elongated body is at an acute angle relative to a longitudinal axis of the head portion. The elongated body is sized such that a top of the head portion is substantially flush with an entry opening in the bone when the nail is inserted into the medullary canal during use. The fixation bracket has a plurality of holes being sized to be substantially the same size as a diameter of a suture and sized to accept sutures therein to enable soft tissue to be anchored securely to the bone during use. The fixation bracket has a top plate and a lateral plate extending therefrom at an acute angle back towards the elongated body of the nail, the connector having a first part extending outwardly from the top of the head portion and coaxially along the longitudinal axis of the head portion, and a complementary second part formed in the top plate.

A method for controlling bleeding from bones, comprising the use of copolymers of oxyethylene and oxypropylene or mixtures thereof to cover the bleeding portions of bones. The copolymers are resorbable by the body, not metabolized, simple to prepare, inexpensive, readily available, and do not interfere with the fusion, osteogenesis, and related tissue healing and repair of the affected bones.

The aggregated data for the group is analyzed for use in making price decisions with respect to marketing the items of commerce. A series of charts illustrating variations in sales over time are generated automatically, different charts being for different selected sets of the data.

An osteotomy cutting guide is disclosed. The cutting guide utilities an angle cutting block which is removably and adjustably attached to a stabilizing base. Also utilized is a distal hole drill block which is removably and adjustably attached to the stabilizing base. The stabilizing base has at least one projecting element which can be inserted into an existing cut. The osteotomy cutting guide allows angled cuts and implant insertions to be performed with accuracy.

A weigh signal is produced when an individual steps onto the platform of the scale, and the weight is displayed on the top of a column upstanding from the base and spoken. Following entry of information identifying the individual into a keyboard also atop the column, a microprocessor assembles two types of messages, at least one informational and at least one psychologically reinforcing, from stored message components in accordance with the identified individual's stored weighing history and stored desired weight goal and the message is spoken. In response to manual operation of other keys, the scale can calculate any individual's ideal weight goal and can review his stored weight history.

The amount of beverage dispensed from each of a plurality of reservoirs in units at a plurality of remote locations, such as hotel rooms, is controlled and indicated. A central console, such as a hotel front desk, includes a keyboard for deriving data and command signals, as well as a data processor that responds to the data and command signals to derive addressing and command signals for the units. A display at the central console responds to the keyboard data and command signals to display the keyboard data signals, as well as data signals derived from addressed units. At each of the units, a liquid flow controller for each reservoir responds to an output of a data processor at the unit. The unit data processor responds to a customer input and command signals from the console to activate the flow controller. In response to a unit being addressed by the console, the unit data processor supplies signals to the console to indicate the amount of beverage dispensed from the reservoirs.

A portable electronic dictionary in a hand-held housing which mounts a plurality of alpha-numeric displays and a keyboard. A plug-in module contains a microcomputer and a ROM which stores a plurality of pairs of sequences of alpha-numeric characters and is searched by a central processing unit in the microcomputer under instructions stored as firmware in another ROM forming part of the microcomputer. One sequence of each stored pair is compared with a sequence which is entered into the keyboard and stored in a RAM also forming part of the microcomputer until a match is found. After one or more sequences have been entered into the keyboard and locations of matching pairs are stored in the microcomputer RAM, the pairs of stored sequences can be rolled across the display. Either sequence of each pair can be compared with a sequence entered into the keyboard.

A data display communication system wherein data generated locally by a keyboard or generated remotely and communicated by modems is displayed on a display device. Data displayed on the screen can be edited or reformatted prior to storage, print-out, or transmission to a remote location. Data communicated between storage and the central processing unit is handled in blocks that make up one full line of characters on the display device. All edit and format functions are performed on the basis of these blocks of data. Timing for the display device controls the operation of the system. The communication system utilizes a microprocessor operating in conjunction with specific hardware logic to handle display oriented operations.
