The present invention is an apparatus, system and method for use of an offshore hose loading station comprising multiple modular reel assemblies that may be selectively configured to a frame attached to a ship and or vessel wherein the reel assemblies may be powered by one motor and engaged for rotation by one shaft and provides a jumper shaft for when a module is taken out of line.

The method of mechanically controlling the rotation of a spool comprising a clutch providing a first position in which a first motive force is applied to the spool through the clutch, providing a second position in which a second motive force is applied to the spool through the clutch, providing third position intermediate to the first position and the second position in which both the first motive force and the second motive forces are applied to the spool through the clutch, such that there during the movement between the first position, the third position, and the second position there is no time at which at least one of the first motive force or the second motive force is not applied to the spool.

The method of mooring buoyant equipment at the surface of a body of water in a controlled position using a single line by connecting a first line from the buoyant equipment to a first diameter drum on a subsea mooring tower, connecting the first diameter drum to a second diameter drum, connecting a second line from the second diameter drum to a weight, such that when the depth of the body of water changes the tension on the first line remains the same and the vertical distance travelled by the weight is less than the change in the depth of the body of water.

The method of supplying non-twisted cable from a non-rotating container comprising supplying a cable to a first spool in a first position by supplying the cable to the first spool in a direction generally parallel to the centerline of the first spool and wrapping the cable around the first spool so that one twist will be applied to the cable with every circumferential wrap, transferring the first spool to a second position without cutting the cable, transferring a second spool to the first position, supplying the cable to a the second spool in the first position by supplying the cable to the second spool in a direction generally parallel to the centerline of the second spool and wrapping the cable around the second spool so that one twist will be applied to the cable with every circumferential wrap, transferring the first spool to a third position and transferring the second spool to the second position, cutting the cable between the second and the third positions, delivering the cable from the third position to be packaged in a container, repeating the process for additional sections of cable to be placed in additional containers, and pulling the cable from the center of the container to untwist the cable as it is being removed from the container.
