An apparatus travels within a 3-dimensional space collecting data that may be used to expose defects in structures and objects beneath the ground surface. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus includes an unmanned aerial vehicle controlled by a user. The apparatus carries LIDAR and ground penetrating radar and correlates data received from both to facilitate displaying a map with data superimposed on it representing locations of defects in structures and buried objects.

Apparatus and method for determining defects in dielectric materials and detecting subsurface objects

A ground penetrating radar antenna array is consistently maintained at a spacing of less than or equal to about 4 inches above the target surface. As a result, the antenna array may be moved up to 75 mph while maintaining accuracy of data collection. The apparatus includes a wooden support from which non-elastic straps are suspended. The straps are attached to a housing containing the ground penetrating radar antenna array and receiver. The housing is supported from below by a pair of skis that have wear plates attached to their undersides with the wear plates engaging the target surface. The wear plates maintain the distal ends of the antennas within the antenna array at a spacing from the target surface of less than or equal to 4 inches, preferably 3.75&#xb1;0.25 inches. The method of operation is also disclosed.

Apparatus and method for high speed subsurface inspection of built infrastructure

A mobile platform, sensors mounted on the mobile platform, computers, data storage devices, power system, data acquisition hardware, and software form a Travel Way Measurement System. The mobile platform with sensors mounted within and upon it, moves along a surface travel way and records data to determine an accurate location and geometry of the travel way surface, surface features, transverse profile and features along side the travel way surface, structures, signs, and other features above the travel way surface, and utilities, pavement thickness and properties, pavement condition, and bridge deck properties and condition below the travel way surface. The mobile platform and sensors can travel and collect data at up to 60 miles per hour or more. The data acquisition hardware and software protocols permit the synchronization of all the sensor outputs in the temporal and spatial domain or in any other domain resulting from numerical transformation of sensor outputs.

Travel way measurement system

The weight ring exercise system includes a weight collar rotatably attached to a weightlifting bar. A plurality of progressively larger weight rings are provided. The smaller weight rings are circumscribed in turn by the larger. The smallest weight ring circumscribes the collar. The weight rings are secured to each other and the collar in turn by a bearing seated in a groove on the smaller weight rings and the collar. A plunger is provided to seat and unseat the bearing in the groove.
