A method is for determining a tire characteristic influencing variable and includes: a) detecting an acceleration of a measurement point on a tire inner side of a vehicle tire, wherein a deviation, caused by contact of the vehicle tire with a roadway, of the acceleration of the measurement point within an observation window is detected, b) deriving at least one analytical characteristic variable which is characteristic of the detected acceleration, wherein the at least one analytical characteristic variable characterizes the non-periodic profile of the detected acceleration within one tire rotation, c) determining at least one tire characteristic influencing variable in a manner dependent on the at least one analytical characteristic variable, wherein a mathematical mapping yields the dependency between the analytical characteristic variable and the tire characteristic influencing variable, wherein the mathematical mapping assigns at least one tire characteristic influencing variable to the at least one derived analytical characteristic variable.

Method for determining tire characteristic influencing variables and control device therefor

A method is for determining a profile depth of a tire profile. The method includes at least the following steps: a) detecting an acceleration of a measurement point on a tire inner side of a vehicle tire, wherein a deviation, caused by contact of the vehicle tire with a roadway, of the acceleration of the measurement point within an observation window is detected, b) deriving at least one analytical characteristic variable which is characteristic of the profile of the detected acceleration, wherein the at least one analytical characteristic variable characterizes the non-periodic profile of the detected acceleration within one tire rotation, c) determining the profile depth in a manner dependent on the at least one analytical characteristic variable, wherein a calibration curve yields the dependency between the analytical characteristic variable and the profile depth, and the calibration curve assigns a profile depth to the derived analytical characteristic variable.

Method for determining a tread depth of a tire profile and control device therefor

A tread profile has a tread profile section which is in the center of the tire in the axial direction, and in each case one shoulder profile section. The central tread profile section is composed of profile belts, and the shoulder profile sections each have a second profile belt. A circumferential groove is arranged in each case between a first profile belt of the central section and the profile belt of the shoulder section. The groove is formed with a web which is radially raised from the groove base and which divides the groove into a narrow first and a wider second section which has, at the groove base, a linear section of extent which merges, with a curvature radius Rand R, with the edges of the profile belt or of the web, wherein R&#x3e;R. The linear section of extent is at an angle of inclination &#x3e;0&#xb0;.
