A preferably clear or transparent agent in gel form for carrying out oxidative treatments in various application fields, for example cosmetics, dental technology, pharmacy and cleaning agents. The agent is particularly well suited for use in cosmetic hair treatments such as, for example, blonding, oxidative hair coloring, and permanent hair deformation. The agent contains a mixture of an oxidant, at least one peroxide stabilizer, at least one specific polymer thickener and water or an aqueous solvent.

Agent for oxidative treatment, particularly in transparent gel form

The solid, form-stable gel for hair treatment contains an aqueous or aqueous-alcoholic base; from 0.5 to less than 2 percent by weight of a carrageenan or a mixture of carrageenans and at least one carrageenan-amount-reducing additive selected from the group consisting of hair fixing polymers, amphiphilic associative thickeners, monoalcohols with 1 to 5 carbon atoms and polyalcohols with 2 to 5 carbon atoms. The carrageenan or mixture of carrageenans and the at least one additive are contained in the gel in respective amounts so that the gel is solid and form-stable, i.e. has a resistance of at least 0.15 N to a compressive force applied at 2000 and 65% relative humidity by means of an 8 mm diameter cylindrical piston that is depressed at a rate of 0.5 mm/s until a compression depth of 1 mm is reached after which the piston is removed at a rate of 0.5 mm/s.

Solid, form-stable gels for hair treatment

A hair treatment product and method for imparting volume to a hairdo or for strengthening the hair shafts of the hairdo is provided. The hair treatment product is a pressure-resistant aerosol container containing a composition, which forms fast-breaking foam on a section of the hairdo including the hair shafts by means of a spraying head having a comparatively narrow spraying angle. The composition in the aerosol container includes at least 60 percent by weight of water; from 1 to 30 percent by weight of C - to C -monovalent alcohol as a foam-breaking agent; from 0.01 to 5 percent by weight of a foam-forming surfactant; from 0.1 to 20 percent by weight of at least one hair-fixing polymer; and an aerosol propellant.

Volume-imparting hair treatment product for strengthening the hair shaft

Combinations of polymer compounds and hair treatment compositions containing them are described, which have improved film-forming properties and improved hair-fixing properties, particularly increased elasticity of the polymer film or the treated hair. The polymer compound combinations include at least one terpolymer of vinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl caprolactam and basic acryl amide monomer and at least one anionic or anionizable polymer with anionic or anionizable groups.

Polymer ingredient combinations for hair treatment compositions

The hair treatment compositions for imparting volume to hair each contain from 0.1 to 20 percent by weight of one or more terpolymers of vinyl pyrrolidone, vinyl caprolactam and a basic acryl amide monomer and from 0.05 to 10 percent by weight of one or more cation-active hair-care substance. The composition provides a long-lasting volumizing effect to hair treated with it. It is especially effective on damaged hair and provides good combability without loading the hair.
