A gravimetric measuring system (10) includes a balance (12) with a weighing chamber (22) surrounded by a plurality of weighing chamber walls (23, 24, 26, 28); an electromechanical weighing system (181) enclosed by an adjoining weighing system chamber (18); and an electronic control apparatus (36) for controlling the system operation according to algorithms stored in a memory (363) of the control apparatus. A plurality of functional modules (14, 16) that generate heat during operation are insertable into module receptacles (283) arranged on at least one weighing chamber wall (28). A plurality of interacting measures, such as providing the module receptacles with device-side identification and thermal interface components and the functional modules with module-side identification and thermal interface components that interact, lead to a controllable measuring system that is flexibly equipped and calibratable.

Gravimetric measuring system

A gravimetric measuring system (), includes a balance () with a weighing chamber () surrounded by a weighing chamber wall (); an electromechanical weighing system (); an electronic control apparatus () for controlling the system operation according to algorithms stored in a memory () thereof; and a plurality of functional modules () configured to be inserted into module receptacles () arranged on the weighing chamber wall (). Each module receptacle () has a device-side identification interface component (); and each functional module has a corresponding module-side identification interface component (). The control apparatus () identifies each functional module () inserted into a module receptacle (), through interaction between the respective device-side and module-side identification interface components () and selects one of a plurality of operating routines according to algorithms stored in the memory.

A gravimetric measuring system () includes a balance () with a weighing chamber (), surrounded by a plurality of weighing chamber walls (); an electromechanical weighing system (); and an electronic control apparatus () controlling the system operation according to routines stored in a memory () thereof; and a plurality of functional modules (), configured to be inserted into module receptacles, arranged on at least one weighing chamber wall (). The at least one weighing chamber wall () is designed as a carrier structure, with recesses () which constitute clearances occupying a majority of the wall surface and which form the module receptacles. Either the functional modules () or diaphragms () without a weighing function close the recesses and are spatially adapted to the recesses.

A cover () of a draft shield () of a precision balance (), has a support frame () on which holding elements () and/or guide rails () are provided for a front panel () and/or at least one side panel (), and a cover element () which is pivotable, about a bearing () provided at one edge, between a holding position and a releasing position. At the edge positioned opposite the bearing are holding elements () which fix the cover element at the opposite edge of the support frame, wherein the holding elements can be released by displacing at least one portion of the cover element in the direction toward the bearing.

A weighing chamber base () for a precision balance () has a weighing base section () and two side cheeks (), which extend perpendicularly from the weighing base section, and which are arranged on opposite edges () of the weighing base section outside the draft shield (). Also, a draft shield () that has such a weighing chamber base (), and has at least one side panel (), which can be moved between an open position and a closed position. The side cheeks of the weighing chamber base form a section of the side walls () of the draft shield ().

A weighing compartment () having a work surface (), including a balance which is integrated into the weighing compartment and which has a scale pan () arranged on the work surface (), and at least one operation surface () which is arranged within the area of the work surface (). The work surface () is formed by the surface of a smooth, continuous plate () and the operation surface () is integrated into the work surface () and is designed as a sensor panel, wherein a sensor () is arranged below the plate which forms the work surface.

A weighing system () with a plurality of weighing cells for respectively weighing a plurality of materials. The weighing cells have essentially the same configuration, are arranged interchangeably in a two-dimensional array, are releaseably fixed on a support element () and have electrical connectors.

An electronic balance including a housing ( ), a weighing scale ( ), a windshield ( ), which preferably at least partially surrounds the weighing scale, and a display and operating unit ( ) which is connected to the balance housing. The connecting part ( ) between the display and operating unit ( ) and the housing ( ) consists essentially of a material with poor heat conduction properties. At least one vertical radiation protection plate ( ) is provided between the display and operating unit ( ) and the housing ( ), and the connecting part ( ) is configured in such a way as to impair air convection on both sides of the radiation protection plate(s) ( ) preferably to the least extent possible. A toploaded balance in accordance with the principle of the electromagnetic compensation of force with a divided upper guide rod (3, 3') and a divided lower guide rod (4, 4') which together as a parallel guide connect a load receiver (2) to a system carrier (1) fixed to the housing, which system carrier (1), load receiver (2) and guide rods (3, 3', 4, 4') form a one-piece base, with a translation lever (5) rotatably mounted by two flexible articulations (7) on the system carrier (1), with a coupling element (12) connected by flexible articulations on the one hand to the load receiver (2) and on the other hand to the short lever arm of the translation lever (5), with a magnet build, as viewed from above, into the free space between the parts of the guide rods (3, 3', 4, 4') and their extensions on the system-carrier side and with a coil fastened on the longer lever arm of the translation lever (5) and extending into the air gap of the magnet, the translation lever (5), the two flexible articulations (7) for mounting the translation lever (5) and the coupling element (12) with its flexible articulations (13, 14) are also a one-piece component of the base. In this manner errors by screwing the flexible articulations (7) and warping and non-reproducible return forces from other screw connections can be avoided.
