A video-based food safety compliance system for use in a food area of a building includes a video camera having a field of view that encompasses at least part of the food area, a user interface and a controller that is operably coupled to the video camera and to the user interface. The controller is configured to receive video from the video camera and to analyze the video to determine when one or more food safety compliance rules are violated. The controller outputs an alert in response to determining that one or more of the food safety compliance rules have been violated.

An illustrative method includes receiving sensor data from one or more sensors of the building, using the received sensor data to control one or more building management components to control one or more environmental conditions within the building, normalizing the sensor data and storing the normalized sensor data, comparing the normalized sensor data with normalized sensor data from one or more other buildings to identify one or more anomalies associated the building, and providing a recommended action to improve at least one of the one or more identified anomalies of the building.

Multi-site building management system

A system and method for converting data sets. The method includes providing a data provider device (DPD) and a controller communicably coupled to one another. The controller or an interface device between the controller and the DPD includes a processor that is connected to a memory device which stores a data converter program. The memory device stores an earlier in time descriptive data set having an earlier data set format and a different later in time descriptive data set having a later data set format. The data converter program determines if a format associated with a received DPD data set is the later data set format. In response to determining that a data set format associated with the received DPD data set is the later data set format, the received DPD data set is converted into a converted data set that has the earlier data set format.

Converting data sets in a shared communication environment

A method for optimizing memory utilization in a gateway of a process control and automation system is provided. The method includes obtaining, for a selected intelligent electronic device (IED), a configured IED description (CID) file associated with the selected IED. The CID file is filtered to generate a filtered CID file. The filtered CID file is provided to the gateway, which is configured to use the filtered CID file to communicate with the selected IED.

Method and apparatus for optimizing memory utilization in gateway of process control and automation system

A method of configuring actual Intelligent Electronic Devices (IEDs) into a substation automation system (SAS) of a power system that runs a substation process. An IED data repository stores IED information including a plurality of logical node classes (LNs), where each LN includes a plurality of data objects as LN type definitions that represent at least bay level functions including control and monitoring outputs from the primary devices or protecting the primary devices. Using an LN type generator, selection of LNs is performed from the plurality of LNs based on functions for implementing at least one single line diagram (selected LNs) that represents the SAS. From the selected LNs a pre-configured IED strategy is generated to represent at a first actual IED to control and automate the substation process in a format understood by the SAS. The pre-configured IED strategy is saved into the IED data repository.

Pre-configuration and integration of IEDs in substation automation systems

A system includes redundant first process controllers configured to communicate over redundant supervisory networks in an industrial process control and automation system. Each first process controller is configured to operate in primary or secondary mode. The system also includes redundant second process controllers configured to communicate over redundant industrial control networks in the industrial process control and automation system. Each second process controller is configured to operate in primary or secondary mode. The system further includes a private network configured to communicatively couple the first and second process controllers. Each controller could be associated with at least three Media Access Control (MAC) addresses.

Redundant process controllers for segregated supervisory and industrial control networks

A system for anchoring a floating object (e.g., watercraft) to the terrain forming of a body of water (e.g., bottom of lake). More particularly, the system provides an anchoring system that allows a rigid support structure to be configured between the anchor point and the watercraft, thereby fixing the watercraft in a constant position.

A gateway is used to segment a network, such as a FAULT TOLERANT ETHERNET (FTE) network, into islands. The gateway receives traffic from a first island, forwards part of the traffic to a second island, and blocks another part of the traffic from being forwarded to the second island. The forwarded traffic could include unicast traffic. The blocked traffic could include broadcast or multicast traffic, including diagnostic messages from one or more nodes in the first island.
