An emergency lighting system provides testing and reporting functionality in a rapidly repeatable fashion for environments with numerous emergency lighting units. In one or more embodiments, the emergency lighting system comprises a plurality of emergency lighting units capable of conducting one or more tests and reporting their operating condition as test results. One or more terminals receive and aggregate the test results and present the same to a user. Emergency lighting units having an undesirable operating condition can then be readily identified and addressed.

An emergency detection and notification system provides autonomous mapping of locations of a building or other environment through a plurality of emergency notification units. The emergency notification units utilize wireless signals to generate topology information that identifies the location of the emergency notification units, the outermost emergency notification units of which identify the egress locations of a building. Upon detection of a hazard, the emergency detection and notification system determines the location of one or more hazards using the topology information.

During an emergency situation the emergency lighting system activates one or more illumination devices.

The emergency lighting units utilizes wireless signals to generate topology information that identifies the location of the emergency lighting units, the outermost emergency lighting units of which identify the egress locations of a building. During an emergency situation the emergency lighting system activates one or more illumination devices and directs occupants to one or more egress locations based on various criteria.

A fully variable controller allows wide range of output voltages and output currents to be programmed therein. In this manner, a power supply including the fully variable controller can power a wide range of electrical loads having distinct voltage and current requirements. The fully variable controller includes a control unit, a voltage regulator and a current regulator configured, respectively, to provide and maintain voltage and current according to an output voltage and output current programmed into the fully variable controller.
