Automated activity detection

This document describes a generative design platform that uses style to generate product designs. In one aspect, a method includes receiving, from a client computing device of a user, data identifying a set of design parameters including a product template for a product and one or more style grammars for the product. Each style grammar includes a set of stylistic parameters that define aesthetic characteristics of a group of related products. One or more physical constraints on a design of the product are obtained. A set of candidate product designs for the product are generated based on the product template, each style grammar, and the one or more physical constraints. A set of scores are generated for each candidate product design based on an evaluation of the candidate product designs. A subset of the candidate product designs are selected based on the scores.

One embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for analyzing substances included in a sample. The apparatus includes a physical enclosure for holding the sample and one or more sensors positioned on an inner surface of the physical enclosure. The sensors are configured to provide information associated with the substances included in the sample. The apparatus further includes electrical conductive traces positioned on the inner surface and coupled to the one or more sensors, thereby facilitating transmission of outputs of the sensors.

An elongated, printed, interconnect has a first end coupled to the integrated circuit. An antenna is on a second end of the interconnect. One embodiment of the present invention provides an apparatus for analyzing a liquid comprising a plurality of different substances. The apparatus includes an absorber that comprises one or more layers of absorbent material for absorbing the liquid and one or more sensors embedded within the one or more layers of absorbent material. The sensors are configured to provide information associated with the different substances included in the absorbed liquid, and a location of a respective sensor is determined based on a corresponding substance detected by the sensor and a diffusion property of the substance.

The apparatus includes an absorber for absorbing the liquid and a testing device separate from the absorber. A method includes printing a readable and writeable memory on an object, using a seed to generate an original value, writing the original value to the memory, and sending the object to a recipient. The method may also include receiving the object at the recipient, determining the seed from a characteristic of the object, generating an authentication value using the seed value, and comparing the authentication value and the original value.

A device includes a first reader capable of reading a seed value from an object, a second reader capable of accessing and retrieving an original value from a printed memory attached to the object, a memory in which is stored at least one authentication value, and a processor to generate an authentication value from the seed value, compare the authentication value to the seed value, and determine a status of the object.

Logic is included in a piece of active storage furniture such that the active storage furniture integrates articles stored thereby into a representation of information about those articles. The logic includes (i) sensors to identify individual articles stored by the furniture and respective locations of the articles and (ii) display elements capable of incorporating selected individual ones of the articles as separate and individual components of a collective representation of information about the selected articles. In response to queries about the articles, the articles themselves are integrated into a representation of information about the articles.
