A method for adjusting a sensor, continuous sensor or automatic measuring system in an interstitium including the steps of adjusting the steepness of a measuring curve and a standard offset (standard axis intercept) prior to the use of the sensor, continuous sensor or measuring system, and adapting the offset by a point calibration by using a reference measure or value during the use. The present invention encompasses sensors, continuous sensors or automatic measuring systems calibrated or adjusted in accordance with the method, and in some embodiments, the offset adjusted prior to use is rectified according to the difference between a value determined by the sensor, continuous sensor or measuring system taking into account the standard steepness and the reference value.

Calibration of sensors or measuring systems

An insulin pump comprises a pump device, a control for the pump device, a memory, an operating element for operating the insulin pump and a method for controlling a user interface of the insulin pump are disclosed. The control is designed and programmed such that options for the user of the insulin pump are displayed by the user interface as a function of a user-specific preference profile stored in the memory and as a function of a current time and are provided for selection by using the operating element. The insulin pump can be designed in an auto-adaptive fashion, such that the control continuously updates the user-specific preference profile based on analyzing operating inputs of the user. Embodiments of the invention allow a large range of functions and simple operation, even in the case of miniaturized pumps.

Insulin pump and method for controlling a user interface of an insulin pump

A method reducing storage volume of a series of measured time-dependent parameters measured in or on the human body such as glucose values from a continuous glucose monitor while permitting retrospective reconstruction of measured data with sufficient accuracy. The series comprises a first number of measured values, and a second number of values that are stored. In this case, the second number is smaller than the first number. A first storage mode is provided, in which an interval of time between successive stored values is variable and which is adjusted on the basis of a time-based variability of the measured values. A second storage mode may also be provided, in which the interval, of time between successive stored values is constant. Embodiments of the invention include a measuring apparatus and a computer program.

Method for storing a series of measurements

In a method for visualization of a parameter which is measured continuously on or in a human body, in particular a glucose concentration, the following steps are carried out. First, a measured value range for a measured parameter is subdivided into two or more sub-ranges. Trend information is then calculated relating to the future expected profile of the measured parameter on the basis of two or more measured values. A time period after which it is predicted that the measured parameter will have left its current sub-range is calculated based on current value of the measured parameter and the calculated trend information and finally the time period is displayed. On the basis of the calculation and display of a time period after which the measured parameter will have departed from one sub-range to another, it is possible for a patient to assess, even without detailed knowledge of the medical relationships, the effects of his action at a time which he can comprehend on the basis of the prognoses available to him, and if appropriate to take corrective actions. An apparatus for carrying out a method such as this comprises a measurement apparatus, a system controller with a computer having a memory unit and a display. A computer program product for carrying out a method such as this on an appropriate apparatus is likewise disclosed.
