An internal lever for a switchable cam follower for a valve train of an internal combustion engine with two opposite side walls (), between which at least one cam roller () can be arranged for following a cam stroke motion and aligned opposing openings () on a support-side lever end area for holding a shaft () for the pivoting support on an external lever () of the cam follower encompassing the internal lever at least in some sections. The side walls () are made from sheet metal and, arranged in the area of the openings () spaced apart from each other, define a space for the arrangement of the cam roller () and are connected to each other by at least one stiffening element (). A method for producing an internal lever is also provided.

A lever-type cam follower for a valve train of an internal combustion engine, the cam follower having two side walls which are connected to each other through a crossbar on whose underside, on one end, a support for a gas exchange valve is disposed, the crossbar having a recess through which a roller extends, the roller is supported via a bearing on a pin seated in the side walls, wherein the roller is so narrow that outer front ends of the roller are clearly spaced from and out of contact with longitudinal surfaces of the recess, one guide extension projects from each of the longitudinal surfaces towards a central longitudinal plane of the cam follower, and the roller is guided on inner sides of the at least one guide extension.

Cam follower

A finger follower lever of a valve train, which has a lever body that is a pressed and punched component made of sheet metal and has a U-shaped cross-section with two largely parallel side walls. A roller rotatably mounted between the side walls on a pin. The pin is uniformly hardened and inserted at each end into a hole punched out of the side wall and is staked or caulked at the ends. To enable the holes to be punched out simultaneously in opposite directions of a relatively narrow lever body, at least one of the two side walls has, at least on the outside thereof, a flat recess in the region of the hole.

Finger follower lever of a valve train and method for producing the same

The invention relates to a finger follower, or lever () of a valve train, for example of a piston-type internal combustion engine, with a lever body () having an end-sided base web (), on which there is a spherical cap-shaped bearing cup () for an articulated mounting on a bearing pin of a housing-sided support element, said bearing pin terminating as a spherical cap; and on this base web is fastened a retaining clamp (), engaging with an annular groove of the bearing pin, in order to secure the finger follower () on the support element in such a way that said finger follower can move to a limited extent.

Finger follower of a valve train

A cam follower for a valve drive of an internal combustion engine. The cam follower has a housing and a cam roller. The cam roller is arranged between the side walls of the housing and is mounted on a journal which bridges the side walls. The cam roller, which has an outer ring, a rolling body set and an inner ring, is a combined plain and rolling bearing. The outer ring and the inner ring are in sliding contact with one another, and the rolling body set is arranged between the inner ring and the journal.
