Disclosed is an apparatus for determining the temperature, comprising a first temperature sensor, a second temperature sensor, and electronics which are configured to apply an electrical signal to the first temperature sensor and/or the second temperature sensor and to tap off at least one reception signal from the first temperature sensor and/or the second temperature sensor. The apparatus also comprises at least six connection lines for making electrical contact with the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor, wherein the connection lines are arranged and configured such that the first temperature sensor and the second temperature sensor are connected in series and can have the transmission signal applied thereto such that the first reception signal can be tapped off from the first temperature sensor and/or the second reception signal can be tapped off from the second temperature sensor.

Monitoring the state of a temperature sensor

The present disclosure relates to a device for determining a temperature of a liquid. The device comprises a first temperature sensor and a reference element. The reference element is composed of a material in which a phase transformation occurs at a predetermined temperature within a temperature range relevant for operation of the device. The material remains in the solid phase. Arranged on the reference element are a first and a second electrode electrically insulated from one another. The device includes a first connection line for contacting the first electrode, and a second connection line for contacting the second electrode. The device further includes a third connection line composed of a material different from the material of the first or the second connection line. The third connection line forms with the first or the second connection line the first temperature sensor in the form of a first thermocouple.

Device and method for the in-situ calibration of a thermometer

The present disclosure relates to an adapter for a 2-wire field device, especially a 2-wire field device of process and/or automation technology, comprising a communication unit for, especially wireless, especially bi directional, communication with an external unit, and an energy storage unit for supply of at least the communication unit with electrical energy. According to the present disclosure, the adapter includes a first connection element for, especially electrical, contacting of the adapter with a second, first connection element complementary, connection element of the field device, wherein the at least two connection elements are embodied for supply of at least the adapter with electrical energy and for exchanging information. Furthermore, the present disclosure relates to a transmitter with an adapter of the present disclosure as well as a 2-wire field device having an adapter of the present disclosure or a transmitter of the present disclosure.

Communication adapter for a transmitter of a field device

Control electronics for a two-wire process device, which two-wire process device can be connected to a two-wire loop. The control electronics comprises an input circuit and a control unit connected to the input circuit, wherein the input circuit is used in a first operating mode to set a current and/or voltage in the two-wire loop by means of a control signal transmitted by the control unit. The input circuit is used in a second operating mode to automatically, in particular independently of the control unit or independently of the control signal transmitted by the control unit, to set the current and/or the electric voltage in the two-wire loop.

Control electronics for a process device and method for operation therefor

A wireless dongle for use in the potentially explosive area for an automation field device to connect to an electrical interface of the field device, having a wireless circuit for sending and receiving wireless signals and a connector element. The wireless dongle can be detachably fitted to the electrical interface by means of the connector element. The connector element has several contact elements, wherein the contact elements are attached to a printed circuit board in the wireless dongle, that a first contact element is used to supply the wireless dongle with energy, that an energy buffer on the printed circuit board is provided which is downstream of the first contact element. The connector element has a second contact element which is used to transmit data between the field device and the wireless dongle, that in each case there is at least one limiting resistor is downstream of the first contact element and the second contact element, and that the resistors and the energy buffer of the wireless dongle are encapsulated by means of a potting compound.

Intrinsically safe wireless dongle for a field device

A delta-sigma D/A converter, by which a digital valued, input signal is convertible into a binary, clock signal time discrete, output signal. By forming an average value of the output signal over a number of clock signal cycles, an analog value of the input signal can be displayed. The delta-sigma D/A converter is embodied in such a manner that, in use, it provides the output signal by serial arrangement of signal patterns of a set of signal patterns, wherein the signal patterns of the set are, in each case, binary, clock signal time discrete and extend over a signal pattern cycles total of a plurality of clock cycles. At least two signal patterns of the set have mutually different signal pattern average values, which are formed over the respective signal pattern cycles total, and all signal patterns of the set have, in each case, essentially the same number, especially exactly the same number, of edges.

Delta-sigma D/A converter

For a conventional 2-conductor communication connection, which includes a sensor, a measurement transmitter and a control unit, an isolation unit is provided, which serves for transmission of digital signals, which are not transmitted by the measurement transmitter. Thus, in the case of a conventional 2-conductor communication connection, digital communication between the sensor and the control unit becomes possible.
