In a method for adapting an arc sensor () to a position in an electrical installation system, according to the invention a specifiable number of specifiable arcs are simulated and/or produced at least at a first position in the installation system, wherein after each simulated or produced arc, at least one current curve and/or voltage curve is recorded in a measured-value recording unit (), wherein at least one characteristic of the recorded current curves and/or voltage curves is determined and stored, and the arc sensor () is trained for the electrical installation system.

Method for adapting an arc sensor

A switching device includes at least a first input and a second input, as well as at least a first output and a second output. The first input is connected with the first output through a first controller and a first switch contact pair. The second input is connected with the second output through a second controller and a second switch contact pair. The switching device further includes a transformer with a core. The first controller forms at least a first coil of the transformer and the second controller forms at least a second coil of the transformer. A switch arrangement is configured to maintain an unsaturated state of the core.

An arc detector comprises an analysis unit for evaluating the first measurement signal according to at least one first evaluation scheme for detecting an arc or at least one electrical effect of the arc on the electrical load network (), wherein the electrical installation arrangement () further comprises at least one first tripping unit (), which switches off the first switch () and disconnects the load () () in such a way if an arc is detected by the arc detector (), wherein in order to reduce false tripping events, a second analysis and/or evaluation scheme is provided, the first evaluation scheme has a higher sensitivity than the second evaluation scheme, the second evaluation scheme is provided if a first living being of a specifiable type is present in a specifiable first surrounding area around the first load (), and the first evaluation scheme is provided if the first living being is present in the first surrounding area.

Electrical installation arrangement

A circuit breaker having break contacts for disconnecting an electric grid or network in a predetermined manner includes a trigger unit which triggers actuation of the break contacts in response to signals received from a detector which detects aperiodic, substantially step-like changes in the amplitude of at least one electric parameter in the electric network. The trigger unit is operatively connected with the detector. The disclosed circuit breaker reduces the likelihood of a fire caused by faults in electric networks.
