A deaeration tank includes a top wall, a bottom wall, a first side wall, a second side wall, a cavity, a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and a plurality of support members. The cavity is defined between the top wall, the bottom wall, the first side wall, and the second side wall. The cavity provides a path for fluid to flow between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. Each of the plurality of support members includes a first segment and a second segment. The first segment extends from the first side wall to the second side wall. The second segment extends perpendicularly from the first segment toward the bottom wall such that the support members are configured to direct fluid flowing within the cavity away from the top wall.

Deaeration tank

A method of making a heat exchanger that includes providing a plurality of tubes. Each of the plurality of tubes has exterior cladding on an exterior surface, interior cladding on an interior surface, and a weld seam extending along the length of the plurality of tubes. The method further includes arranging the plurality of tubes such that each of the plurality of tubes is inserted into a corresponding header slot with the weld seams of each of the plurality of tubes oriented downward with respect to gravity, and brazing each of the plurality of tubes and the header after each tube has been inserted into a corresponding header slot. The brazing causes the interior cladding to melt and pool inside the plurality of tubes and along an interior side of the weld seams to form a clad cover portion encases debris generated while forming the weld seams.

Method of making a heat exchanger

A valve including a housing, a motor within the housing, and a pinout configuration with an electrical contact. The electrical contact is configured to receive and transmit signals. The valve also includes a motor controller that receives power at the valve, receives a control message, and characterizes the control message as a first type. In response to characterizing the control message as the first type, the motor controller controls the motor to set the valve to a first position in response to determining that the electrical contact is electrically closed and controls the motor to set the valve to a second position in response to determining that the electrical contact is electrically open.

Valve with configurable default position

A shroud assembly mounts a radiator to a vehicle frame. The shroud assembly includes a shroud, a first frame bracket for mounting the shroud to the vehicle frame, and a second frame bracket for mounting the shroud to the vehicle frame. The shroud includes a first shroud portion and a second shroud portion. The shroud assembly has a plurality of openings, each opening receiving a fan. The first mounting bracket connects the first shroud portion to the second shroud portion, and the second mounting bracket also connects the first shroud portion to the second shroud portion.

Fan shroud, mounting bracket, and pin mount

A fan shroud assembly mounts a radiator to a vehicle frame. The fan shroud assembly includes a fan shroud, a first frame bracket for mounting the fan shroud to the vehicle frame, and a second frame bracket for mounting the fan shroud to the vehicle frame. The first frame and second brackets include a bottom wall and a back wall. The fan shroud includes: an air chamber wall defining an air chamber and configured to support the radiator; an air outlet at a first side of the air chamber wall; an air inlet at a second side of the air chamber wall opposite from the first side; a first section of the air chamber wall extending between the air inlet and the air outlet; and a second section of the air chamber wall extending between the air inlet and the air outlet.

Heat exchanger module

A shroud assembly mounts a radiator to a vehicle frame. The shroud assembly includes a shroud, a first frame bracket for mounting the shroud to the vehicle frame, and a second frame bracket for mounting the shroud to the vehicle frame. The shroud includes a first shroud portion and a second shroud portion. The first shroud portion has an opening for receiving a fan. The second shroud portion has an opening for receiving a fan. The first mounting bracket connects the first shroud portion to the second shroud portion, and the second mounting bracket also connects the first shroud portion to the second shroud portion.

A method of making a heat exchanger that includes sealing tubes to header slots and brazing the tubes to the header slots. The method further includes coupling a cover to the header to cover a liquid-side surface of the header and to cover ends of the tubes, and applying flux to an air-side surface of the header and to the tubes. Coupling the cover to the header is performed after sealing the tubes to the header slots and coupling the cover to the header is performed before applying flux to the air-side surface of the header and to the tubes. Applying flux is performed before brazing each of the tubes to the header slots and sealing each of the tubes to the header slot includes sealing a perimeter of each of the tubes to the header slot.

A heat exchanger module mountable to a vehicle frame by first and second lateral sides of the heat exchanger module. The heat exchanger module includes a fan shroud. The fan shroud is a structural fan shroud. The fan shroud includes first and second frame brackets extending from the fan shroud, one on the first lateral side and one on the second lateral side. The fan shroud is attached to at least one of a first heat exchanger and a second heat exchanger by at least one fastener that extends through the fan shroud.

A system and method of operating a cooling system for a vehicle engine, wherein one or more motors are operable to rotate one or more fans. Each of the one or more motors is controlled by a motor controller associated with the motor, in response to a control signal received from a system controller and an enable signal received from the vehicle. The motor controller operates the motor at a speed based upon the control signal if the control signal is received, and operates the motor at a predetermined speed if the control signal is not received but the enable signal is received.
