A hotmelt adhesive is provided in the form of a granulate comprising at least one compact outer layer (shell) made up of at least one component which is not pressure sensitive up to 45&deg; C. and which surrounds a core made up of other components of the hotmelt adhesive. The hotmelt adhesive granulates are free flowing even after storage at a high temperature under pressure.

Hot-melt-type adhesive in the form of a granulate

In the production of a strand-form hotmelt adhesive wrapped in a tubular film which is suitable for simultaneous melting with the hotmelt adhesive and which does not have any surface tackiness at normal storage temperatures, the heated liquid hotmelt adhesive is introduced into the cooled tubular film and the tube is subsequently cooled in a cooling bath. During introduction of the hotmelt adhesive, the shape of the tubular film is stabilized by providing an excess gas pressure and/or a guide inside the tube. The outside of the tube is cooled by a cooling liquid, the tubular film is brought into a substantially horizontal position after immersion in the cooling bath and is kept in that position in the cooling bath at least until the contents of the tubular film in proximity with said liquid hotmelt adhesive have at least partly solidified. Strands of any diameter and any length can readily be produced without significant effort in an economically and industrially useful manner.

Process for production of hotmelt adhesives

To load products, particularly lipsticks or glue sticks, delivered upright from a packing unit, into a plurality of receiving trays, the products are grouped in at least two rows in a segregating station, conveyed in spaced groups to a transfer station, and moved to a filling station into a prepared tray by means of a handling unit equipped with a gripper means. Each tray, filled with products, is removed from the filling station by an output conveyor and is replaced with a similar empty tray while another group of products is formed and moved into the transfer station.

A laundry finishing treatment article for use in a mechanical laundry drier to treat fabrics with a substance of the laundry finishing type and a laundry odorant, the article comprising a hollow bag of two-layer composite sheeting having a pillowlike form closed on all sides, the external layer of said two-layer composite sheeting being an open-celled absorbent layer containing an amount effective to treat said fabrics of the substance, which substance is substantially solid at room temperature and softened or liquefied at elevated drier temperatures to enable a transfer of the substance to the laundry during the drying thereof, and the internal layer of the two-layer composite sheeting being a plastic film substantially gas-impermeable at room temperature and gas-permeable to the odorant at elevated drier temperatures, the film enclosing an effective amount of the odorant; as well as the process for after-treating laundry in a drier in which the above laundry finishing treatment article is introduced into a drier together with moist laundry and allowed to act on the laundry during the drying process.
