An ink supply system () comprises an ink chamber (); an ink line () with a Venturi nozzle (), wherein the ink chamber () has an inlet (), which is connected to the ink line () upstream of the Venturi nozzle (), and an outlet (), which is connected to the suction side of the Venturi nozzle (); an ink reservoir () from which the ink is transferred by a pump () to the inlet () and into the ink line (); and an ink return line (), which connects the downstream end of the Venturi nozzle () with the ink reservoir ().

Ink supply system

A printing machine () comprises a doctor blade (), a drive system () for urging the doctor blade () against a printing cylinder () of the printing machine (), a sensor () adapted for sensing a force with which the doctor blade () is urged against the printing cylinder (), and a mechanical locking element () adapted for locking the drive system () in its operating position. Further, a method of operating a printing machine () is presented.
