A method for removing a shielding foil of an electrical cable includes creating an incision of a first depth in an insulating sheath of the electrical cable wherein the first depth is smaller than or the same as the thickness of the insulating sheath; creating a predetermined breaking point in the shielding foil through at least one radially adjustable perforation tool until the perforation tool has reached a second depth, wherein the second depth corresponds to at least the thickness of the insulating sheath plus at least half of the thickness of the shielding foil; tearing the shielding foil at the predetermined breaking point; and removing the shielding foil.

A device for identifying contact with an electrical conductor by at least one electrically conductive tool (). The device comprises a tool holder (Ir) rotationally mounted about a rotation axis (X), and the tool () arranged on the tool holder. The device additionally comprises an electrically conductive body (ECB) and a rotor-side inductive element (L) arranged on the electrically conductive body (Ir). A parallel resonant circuit comprises at least one rotor-side circuit element (A), at least one stator-side circuit element (B), a stationary circuit arrangement () and a stator-side inductive element (L). The rotor-side inductive element and the stator-side inductive element are arranged to measure characteristic oscillation parameters (&#x3c6;, Am, f) of the parallel resonant circuit independently of the rotation speed of the tool holder (Ir). An assembly for automatically detecting contactlessly elongate objects (W). The assembly comprises an inductive measuring system (E) and a first optical measuring system (D) for the object (W) within a housing (). The inductive measuring system (E) is an eddy current sensor for determining an electromagnetic characteristic of the object (W) and has half coils (E, E) which wind around the object (W) and forms an inductive cylindrical measurement volume (Ev). The half coils (E, E), together with a capacitor (E), form a parallel oscillating circuit (E), which is connected to an electronic evaluating circuit (E). The first optical measuring system (D) determines the outside diameter (Wdo) of the object (W) and an optical disk-shaped measurement volume (DCPv) is formed between the two half coils (E, E). Optionally, the assembly, by a second optical measuring system (C), determines the color and the position by a third virtual measuring system (P).

Combination sensor

An arrangement for automatically contactlessly detecting elongate objects (W), such as cables, wires or profiles, has a quasi-coaxially arranged group of a first optical measuring system (D) for determining the external diameter and a second optical measuring system (C) for determining the color using a different measurement principle. The functional and local separation of the two measuring systems (C, D) is achieved by using different wavelength ranges and by a long-pass filter (C). A third, virtual measuring system (P) may be provided for the purpose of determining the cable location and is used to weight measured values of the color measurement and measured values of an optional eddy current sensor. The optical measuring systems (D, C, P) for determining the diameter, the color and the position have a common optical disc-shaped measuring volume (DCPv) which is preferably arranged centrally in the guide device () for the elongate object (W).

The invention relates to a device for detecting contact of a tool () with an electrical conductor () encased by an electrical insulation (). In order to ensure a reliable, robust and simple display of the tool-conductor contact for potential-free and short cable lengths, the tool () consisting of an electrically conductive material is fastened to a tool holder () made of electrically conductive material. A thin electrical insulation is provided between tool () and tool holder () so that these components together with the coaxial cable form a capacitor (CS). An inductance (La; Lb) is connected parallel to this so that a high-Q LC resonant circuit is formed between tool and tool holder. The electronic circuit arrangement excites the resonant circuit and determines characteristic oscillation parameters of this resonant circuit. Furthermore, for the cable processing tool-conductor contacts can be weighted according to contact time and specific time within the cable processing process and thus quantitative production exclusion criteria are determined.

Machines and methods for removing screens from cable, wherein screen surrounds at least one electrical or optical conductor (). The screen may be a braided screen () from a cable () including at least one conductor (), screen (), and outer insulation (). After baring screen () by removing outer insulation (), a section is deformed and/or unbraided, and then the deformed section of the screen () is cut off. The step of deforming and/or unbraiding is accomplished by lifting-off the screen () from the inner conductor () on at least one end of the section of the screen () to be removed, at least over a part of the circumference of the cable. This step additionally includes or may be followed by pressing the parts of the screen (), that have been lifted off onto an erection surface () before cutting them off, whereby preferably the parts of the screen () that have been lifted off are bent backwards in the direction of the yet undeformed screen ().
