Described are systems, methods, apparatuses, and computer program products for wireless in-ear-monitoring (IEM) of audio. A system includes transmitter(s) configured to map orthogonal sub-carriers of a digital signal to narrowband receivers to form receiver-allocated audio channels, modulate the digital signal, and transmit the signal as an ultra-high frequency (UHF) analog carrier wave comprising the orthogonal sub-carriers to the nearby receiver. A narrowband receiver is configured to demodulate and sample the sub-carriers allocated to the receiver. Sub-carriers can be positioned orthogonal to one another in adjacent sub-bands of the frequency domain and beacon symbols and pilot signals can be iteratively provided in the same portion of the frequency domain for each channel. The receiver can use non-data-aided and data-aided approaches for synchronization of the time domain and frequency domain waveforms of the received signal to the transmitted signal prior to sampling the allocated sub-carriers.

Scalable multiuser audio system and method

A wireless communication system with scalable diversity and multi-transceiver diversity deployment is disclosed. An example communication system includes a first wireless transceiver, having a first bandwidth and a first center frequency, a second transceiver, having a second bandwidth and a second center frequency, and a processor. The processor is configured to operate the wireless communication system in a first mode when a difference between the first center frequency and the second center frequency is greater than or equal to half of the first bandwidth plus the second bandwidth. The processor is also configured to operate the wireless communication system in a second mode when a difference between the first center frequency and the second center frequency is less than half of the first bandwidth plus the second bandwidth.

Scalable diversity deployment for wide tuning range transceiver

A flexible multi-channel diversity wireless audio receiver system for routing, processing, and combining multiple radio frequency (RF) signals containing audio signals received on respective antennas is provided. The wireless audio receiver system provides flexible routing of multiple RF signals in different selectable modes, and low latency uninterrupted reception of signals in harsh RF environments by combining multiple RF signals to maximize signal-to-noise ratio. The audio output may be generated in an uninterrupted fashion and mitigate multipath fading, interference, and asymmetrical noise issues. Received RF signals may also be cascaded by the wireless audio receiver system to allow daisy chaining.

Flexible multi-channel wireless audio receiver system

A wireless audio receiver system and method is provided that is capable of receiving one or more radio frequency (RF) signals containing audio signals modulated by analog and/or digital modulation schemes, operating in full diversity mode or switched diversity mode, demodulating the RF signals, and outputting analog audio signals and a combined digital audio signal. The system and method switches multiple diversity antennas to route received RF signals to respective RF signal processing paths. Digitized passband modulated signals are demodulated to generate analog audio signals, and a combined digital audio signal with one or multiple channels may also be generated. The system and method are capable of demodulating signals modulated using a wide variety of modulation schemes. Reconfigurable computing components are utilized to demodulate digitized passband modulated signals and generate the analog audio signals and combined digital audio signal.

Wireless audio receiver system and method

Embodiments include a hybrid frequency synthesizer comprising a direct digital synthesizer configured to generate a digital output signal having a frequency determined by an input signal received from an externally-generated signal source. The hybrid frequency synthesizer further includes a delta sigma modulator configured to generate a delta-sigma modulated signal based on the digital output signal, the delta sigma modulator being coupled to the direct digital synthesizer. The hybrid frequency synthesizer also includes a digital-to-analog converter configured to convert the delta-sigma modulated signal into an analog output signal, the digital-to-analog converter being coupled to the delta-sigma modulator. Moreover, the hybrid frequency synthesizer includes a bandpass filter configured to remove interference frequencies from the analog output signal, the bandpass filter being coupled to the digital-to-analog converter; and a phase locked loop coupled to the band pass filter and driven by a reference signal received therefrom.

Hybrid frequency synthesizer and method

A communications system, e.g., a wireless microphone, incorporates a quadrature modulator system to reduce power consumption with respect to traditional approaches and is general in nature to support any two-dimensional digital technique. The quadrature modulator system comprises different subsystems, including a digital-analog transformation circuit, a baseband filter, and a quadrature modulator. The digital-analog transformation circuit converts discrete time samples to a continuous time signal, and further includes an oversampling noise-shaping modulator such as a sigma-delta modulator. The baseband filter then removes out-of-band energy including sampling images and quantization noise. Some of the circuit components may comprise discrete devices that may result in a reduction of power consumption for the quadrature modulator system. Alternatively, some or all of the circuit components may be incorporated in a single electronic device. For example, an in-phase/quadrature-phase (I/Q) converter and oversampling noise-shaping modulator may be implemented within one field-programmable gate array.
