A skin care composition that includes a combination of palmitoyl dipeptide-7, acetyl tetrapeptide-11, other optional skin ingredients, and a dermatologically acceptable carrier. The combination of peptides synergistically improves cellular ATP level and/or upregulates the expression of peroxisome proliferator activated receptor alpha and/or methylsterol monooxygenase 1 to help provide improved skin health and appearance.

Skin care composition and method of using the same

A skin care composition that contains a combination of a vitamin Bcompound, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, acetyl tetrapeptide-11, and a dermatologically acceptable carrier. The combination of vitamin Bcompound, palmitoyl pentapeptide-4, and acetyl tetrapeptide-11 increases activation of a cell's Antioxidant Response Element (ARE), (e.g., synergistically) to improve a visible sign of skin aging.

Embodiments of a method for demonstrating type and/or source of hair damage comprises extracting protein fragments from a hair sample with an aqueous solution, testing the resulting protein fragments with the MALDI-MS test, and then either comparing the results between a damaged sample and an undamaged sample or comparing the results between a damaged sample and a list of known marker protein fragments to identify the type and/or source of the damage.
